“Bullying” “Bamm…” A little boy named Thomas just got shoved in a locker. This has been going on all school year, and he isn’t the only one. It is the end of the school day and Thomas has to ride the bus, he gets shoved, poked, and pinched by other students. You would think he would tell his parents, but he’s afraid that if his parents get involved that he will be even more picked on. Over the next weeks of being picked on, he becomes depressed, and starts harming himself. Thomas’ parents find out about their son hurting himself, and yell at him. They think he’s either just going through a phase or just hanging around the wrong crowd. Thomas doesn’t know what to of anymore he has no friends, his parents are mad at him; he thinks to himself “I should just die no one wants me here anyways”. That night he ended up committing suicide and he was only ten years old. Bullying is a major conflict in today society, it affects so many people and sometimes causes them to do destructive stuff to themselves and other people; therefore it needs to be taken serious…. Bullying isn’t something that has just started; it’s been going on since the dawn of time. Some of society believes that school bullying is just a phase of growing up and learning to prepare you. An increase of suicide in japan caused by school bullying from 1993 to 1995 led to a second phase of activity that currently continues (Smith and Brain). The past two decades have seen progress in this subject, but deal with bullying effectively is not going to be easy (Smith and Brain). We can change the history of bullying if we get society to have a better understanding of bullying and how it affects people. Bullying is a major problem because kids take their own lives because of other kid’s stupidity. Bullying is unwanted aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance (stopbullying.gov). There are many
