Duty of care ensures that people are taken care of and we are under obligation to do this in the way that is required. This means that you need to be aware of things that may go wrong and taking the best steps to prevent it and make wise choices about the decisions that you make. Health and social care organisations have a duty of care towards the people that they look after. This basically means that the people within the establishment should be kept safe from harm. The safety, welfare and the interests of people using your service must be prioritised.
