-1926 the flappers come about, these ladies where a new era to the fashion world they began wearing dresses and inch above the knees, skin colored silk stockings, and sleek pumps.
-Acting in public took a turn as well; women began smoking and drinking more often. They also began to talk about sex more openly and began to dance in public in a regular basis. Tango, fox trot, shimmy.
-This behavior then became media worthy and once it escaped to media, all the younger generations of girls had a want to be like the girls they see in the magazines. And with it being acceptable with the media, it made it expectable to society.
~Family
-Birthrate, decreased in the 1920’s the rate went down slightly faster due to the availability of birth control and the independence kick of women at this time. In 1921 the American Birth Control League earned the legal rights to give birth control to patients of theirs -Household technology also took a jump; food came in cans and clothes where already factory-made clothes. This made the women’s house-wife lifestyle simpler, allowing more time with the family witch also gained great importance in the 1920’s.
-This became the beginning to family activities and passionate relationships between spouses. Instead of working kids began going to school while parents worked.
~Workforce
-Females worked constantly during the war and did a fine job. But then when their men came back from the war employers believed that it is the man’s job to support and make money for his household. This kind of kicked women out of the workforce so that men could support their families.
-Women professions then replaced the female collage graduate. Professions such as teachers, nurses, and librarians where set aside for women.
-During the 1930’s women’s discrimination was fully exposed, women had lower wages and high competition for jobs against men.
