The scheme is in four parts
A. Cyclone Emergency Scheme
After a cyclone
A.2.11: MoESD to form part of the Local Cyclone Committees which will be set in each Municipal and District Council.
A.5.1: Immediately after a cyclone, MoESD to attend the standing Cabinet Cyclone Committee at the PMO.
A.5.2: MoESD to form part of the Committee of Officials which is concerned mainly with work of relief and reconstruction. The Committee of Officials will meet at the seat of the National Disaster and Operations Coordination Centre (NDOCC), Line Barracks, Port Louis as soon as possible, after the termination of cyclone conditions.
B. Torrential Rain Emergency Scheme

C. Landslide Emergency Scheme

D. Tsunami Emergency Scheme
Occurrence and Potential threat of a destructive tsunami
D.3.4.1: MoESD to form part of the Crisis Committee upon occurrence of an Indian Ocean-wide tsunami. The Crisis Committee will meet at the seat of the NDOCC and will move to the SMF Operations Room, in case the NDOCC is disabled.
Aftermath a tsunami
MoESD to take the following actions:
D.5.6.1: A Technical Committee chaired by the Director of Department of Environment will be set up and will come up with feasible options and recommendations for rehabilitation. The Technical Committee will meet, as soon as possible, after the tsunami alert has been waived.
D.5.6.2: A communication cell, headed by the Divisional Environment Officer responsible for Information and Education, will be set up. The Communication Cell will also be required to prepare and submit observation reports to the Coordination Team as well as to draft any communiqué as may be required.
D.5.6.3: A number of officers (depending on the scale of the crisis and in case of large scale damage, all staff would be involved) will be mobilized. Mobilization will be effected within a period of 4-6 hours during day
