Q1. Define the terms e-business, electronic commerce, and mobile electronic commerce and describe how they differ from one another. e-Business: In general terms e-business means buying and selling of goods and services through internet and also collaborating with business partners, knowing about e-learning and managing electronic transactions. We study in this chapter that, e-business refers to as the usage of electronic methods to conduct organizations business internally or externally. Internal e-business activities are said to be associating with organizations employees with each other through an intranet to improve information sharing, facilitate knowledge distribution and support management reporting and it also includes supporting after-sales services activities and cooperating with business partners, e.g., arranging joint research, developing a new product and formulating a sales promotion. It is a overall business process flow that includes from the raw material to finished product to the customer that are done using electronics is called e-business.
Electronic commerce / e-commerce: It’s a subset of e-business and is more specific than e-business. E-commerce is a term that denotes any kind of business or commercial transaction, which contains the transfer of information across the internet or any other telecommunications network. This comprises of electronic trading of physical and digital goods, quite often containing all the trading steps such as online marketing, online ordering, electronic payment and for digital goods, online distribution. E-commerce applications with external orientation are buyer side e-commerce activities with suppliers and seller-side activities with customers.
Mobile e-commerce: It’s again is a subset of electronic commerce. It also refers to as online activities same as e-commerce type, but the underlying technology is different as mobile commerce is limited to mobile communication networks, which are accessed through wireless
