2. RAMAL:-“LEAVES ARE PRESENT AT BRANCHES”e.g SHEESHAM (Dalbergia sisso )
3. RAMAL AND CAULINE:-“LEAVES ARE PRESENT ON BOTH MAIN STEM AND BRANCHES”

COMPOUND LEAF IS FURTHUR DIVIDED INTO TWO TYPES:- * PALMATE COMPD. LEAF:-(LEAFLETS ARISES FROME A ONE POINT AT THE TOP e.g Medicago sativa KNOWN AS LOSSEN OR LOSSERN)
TYPES OF PALMATE COMPOUND LEAF:- 1. UNIFOLIATE (THERE IS ONLY SINGLE LEAF ON THE TOP e.g. Citrus limonia known as LEMON) 2. BIFOLIATE (THERE ARE TWO LEAFLETS ARE PRESENT ON THE TOP e.g. Lavadula bipennate KNOWN AS LAVENDER ) 3. TRIFOLIATE (THERE ARE THREE LEAFLETS PRESENT ON THE TOP e.g. Oxalis carniculata ) 4. MULTIFOLIATE (IN THIS TYPE MANY LEAFLETS ARE PRESENT ON THE TOP e.g. Bombax malbaricum OR Bombax ceiba KNOWN AS SILK COTTON . * PINNATE COMPOUND LEAF (LEAFLETS ARISES FROM A SINGLE STALK CALLED RACHIS e.g. Rosa indica KNOWN AS ROSE
TYPES OF PINNATE COMPOUND LEAF 1. PARIPINNATE (EVEN NO. OF LEAFLETS ARE PRESENRT, SO NEVER ON THE TOP THIS KIND OF LEAFLETS ARE PRESENT) 2. IMPARIPINNATE (ODD NO OF LEAFLETS ARE PRESENT , IT MEANS THAT LEAFLETS ARE ALWAYS PRESENT ON THE TOP) 3. BIPINNATE (TWO LEAFLETS ARE PRESENT e.g. Albizia KNOWN AS DHARAEK) 4. TRIPINNATE (THREE LEAFLETS ARE PRTESENT e.g. Melia azaderach AND Azadirachata indica)
MODIFICATIONS IN THE LEAF:- * LEAF TENDRIL (LEAF OR ITS PART ARE MODIFIED INTO TEDRILS e.g. Lathyrous aphaca) * LEAF SPINE (MODIFIED INTO SPINE HELPING IN THE REDUCTION OF TRANSPIRATION e.g. Berberris lycidium . SOMETIMES TOP OF THE LEAF OR APEX MODIFIED INTO SPINES )
