This sector typically produces parts in larger volumes than other sectors but the life cycle of their products are relatively short, with parts which are not functionally exigent. In this use cases, 3D printing accelerates product development by optimizing time to part by enabling rapid design iteration. Maybe the industry which is shifting the most nowadays from traditional manufacturing to 3D printing, is the dental industry. The dental industry is moving to digital by applying scanning tools, new software’s, and printing in 3D printers. As a use case Align Tecimologies manufactures 17 million unique Invisalign orthodontic aligners annually, and each one is produced by thermoforming sheet material over a unique pattern made by AM.…

Extrusion can be operated under steady state or unsteady state conditions; however most of the simulation works were done on steady state conditions. The extent of the steady state stage is determined by the ratio of the height to the diameter of the billet during the extrusion process. A greater ratio results in a greater proportion of the process given over to the steady state stage. This scenario always reflects the relationship between the steady state stage, transient-state processes and unsteady extrusion stage for the flow rule. Study of the material flow intransient or unsteady extrusion stage is also significant and it is required to establish a suitable process and die design. Moreover, numerous of parameters studying, such as, the temperature distribution, the friction and the defects in transient process should be investigated in the simulation /Wil02/. Therefore, in this study, the transient model for ALE simulation of aluminum (magnesium) extrusion process is built, to compare with the practical experimental…
