Live Jazz and Blues
Miami Beach is a place where people different nationality and different race have fun. At Van Dyke, there is live jazz and blues every night. People meet tourist, Floridian, and make connection. One day a friend of mine referred me to this place where magical happen in jazz and blues. Saturday night I decied to visit the place because of the second paper, but when I got there I realize that it is a place I should visit anytime. I got there at 9:30, the band was doing sound check. As soon as I walked in, I realized that it has totally different atmosphere from what my expectations were for the music concerts. Unlike all the other concerts I attended, this concert intended for small audience, probably around a hundred people. Also, this jazz concert seemed very relaxed and comfortable. Most of people were dressed very casual, wearing jeans and shirts.
The first band who was playing composed with seven people, which are two pianist, one drumer, one giutar bass, three trumpet player and not including the singer. Jazz is the kind of music that makes me want to do one of two things. Depending on the mood of the jazz, sometimes I feel like relaxing and just listening to the music and letting it run through me. Other times I feel like getting up and dancing as if I have not a care in the world. The band inspired me to do both of these due to the variety used by the musicians in dynamic, rhythm, tempo, and many other aspects of music. The instruments included an acoustic and electric bass guitar, a percussion set, and a keyboard. The sounds were creatively combined to make for a wonderful concert. The first aspect of the music I recognized was the volume, or the dynamics. The rhythm and tempo of the music that evening varied widely throughout the concert and even within the songs themselves.
