F*ckin Perfect by Pink Analysis
“F***ing Perfect” by Pink
“F***ing Perfect” by song artist Pink, expresses thoughts of her past and future. This song uses metaphors and also similes to get her points across. You are who you are and no one can take that away from you because “You are perfect”.
An example of a metaphor in this song is “The whole world stares while i swallow the fear”. This line is stating that she was miss judged and bullied, what gives this away is the line“ they don’t like my genes they don’t get my hair”.
A particular simile in this song creates a whole new topic to think about. “They don’t like my genes”, she is talking about her family background and people not understanding her, or her past. She is talking all the way through the song about how she felt “misunderstood” and “mistreated”
Overall, “F***ing Perfect” by Pink, has been successful in getting her story of her life across in what she had to go through for example, being bullied. She doesn’t want people to have to retrace her steps therefore talking about her past and where she ended up in the beginning before her road to fame. “F***ing Perfect” by Pink

Evaluating Angela’s metaphors she has a heart for the homeless and describes in detail their lack of resources and how they are taken for granted. You can tell how she loves the outdoors in the way she metaphorically speaks of bicycling with chasing the breeze. She has a passion for sailing and speaks of riding the wind and floating on waves. Her father is a strong influence in her life when she speaks of him having the heart of a tiger and the voice of a warrior. He is a shoulder to cry on in her days of struggle. Angela’s son is a big part of her life; she speaks of him being the sun in her sky, the light in her dark and the air that she breathes.…

The song “Pretty Hurts” by Beyonce uses metaphors to explain society’s obsession with beauty and conformity. The song is about the effect society has based on way you look. Beyonce’s portrays the judgemental and mean way the society sees celebrities appearance as harmful and hurtful. In the song lyrics there are metaphors. The metaphors compare two things to make the writing have a more clearer idea. She uses metaphors to her advantage to describes how social media creates stereotypes and people are pressured to look pretty and meet societies standards. Metaphors are found in the poem “What Shall He Tell His Son,” written by Carl Sandburg. The poem is written as life lessons that the speaker of the poem collects over time to prepare his own son for growing up. The poem is very emotional, as the speaker reflects on his own life and the lessons he has learned the hard way. Metaphors in the poem are used to evoke emotion in the reader, to take each lesson that is told in their own way. “The growth of a fail flower in a path up / has sometimes shattered and split a rock,” the reader can take that metaphor in their own way.…

Our society has certain expectations on how women should behave. Women are supposed to give up their uniqueness and independence to become the stereotypical shy and gentle, romantic that care only about their outward appearance. As a result, our society pressures women to conform to its expectations. However, there are women who choose to fight against this expectation by encouraging other women to be different -- to be individual, independent, fierce, ambitious, and themselves. One way they inspire each other is through songs. It is no different for P!nk, an American singer and songwriter, who is known for writing female-empowering songs. P!nk released her latest song titled “Just Like Fire” after she was asked to write a song for the movie Alice Through the Looking Glass.…

The first example of figurative language is, "I wanna stay in the sun where I find, I know it's hard sometimes," and this is an example of a metaphor; the sun represents comfort, and it means that it's hard to avoid happiness and comfort in life. Another example of figurative language is, We have a list of people we would take, a bullet for them, a bullet for you, a bullet for everybody in this room," and the type of figurative language is a hyperbole; we wouldn't actually take a bullet for someone, but we would sacrifice ourselves to help others. Finally, the last example of figurative language that was used in this song was the chorus, "Oh, oh, I'm falling, so I'm taking my time on my ride," and this is a metaphor. The literal meaning of this is, as mentioned before, our ride is a metaphor for our life, and "taking my time on my ride" means living every moment of life to the…

The imagery and the figurative language reflects the idea that love is never a forgiveness and she describes her love with objects and songs of how they remind her of him throughout the song. She also Adele uses similies for example, "cause you feel like home" as a way of describing how her love feels like home. She also uses similies by saying, "you look like a movies, you sound like a song". Adele is describing her love that everywhere she goes everything reminds her of him. Katy Perry Firework Essay

I selected the song Firework by Katy Perry because it is a very catchy song and it has a good meaning behind the song. I’m a firm believer in showing who you truly are and not hiding your true self so you “fit in” if you think fit in by acting different are you really fitting in at all. Be your true self and find an actual friend group where you can be who you truly are. The song says “show them what you’re worth” and “Let you’re colors burst.” What Katy Perry is saying with those lyrics is that you need to be true self and not to pretend to be someone you’re not to just impress someone. The song also says that everyone is unique in their own way and every single person is important and you’re not a waste of space. The music video adds to…

    Come Wake Me Up

The song I chose to critique is a popular country song called “Come Wake Me Up” by Rascal Flatts. Personally, Rascal Flatts is one of my favorite country bands, and even though I am young, I feel like I can relate to the lyrics of this song because I too sometimes feel as if everything is just a dream. Dreams were I am eager to wake up just so it can be all over and be back to normal. Dreams were nothing feels real or you couldn’t possibly imagine of happening to yourself. Being “too young” to me doesn’t determine what you’ve been through on a relationship level. Through the entire song, I feel like the lyrics were in my head before on a Rascal Flatts album, only rearranged in a way simpler to understand. Lyrically, you could not put words in a more perfect arrangement to make this song seem as if it was made personally for me.…
