Late Papers will be graded down 5pts. for every day late
1. Must be 2 to 3 pages, typed, double-spaced, with one-inch margins.
2. Must involve analysis and interpretation -- DO NOT simply describe or narrate what occurred at the performance.
3. Must describe how the concert fulfills at least ONE function of dance.
4. Should include a combination of facts, based on keen observations, interpretations and opinions – YOUR opinions!
5. May discuss any of the following: costumes, lighting, set design, spatial patterns (how the dancers used the stage space), music or other accompaniment or lack of accompaniment, interaction of the dancers (if more than one appears in a dance)
6. Must discuss the movements that you saw, using Laban Movement Analysis and the elements of TIME, SPACE and ENERGY. Helpful Hint: Make notes on your program between dances or at the intermission. It will help jog your memory when it comes time to sit down and write the critique. The sooner that you write your critique after seeing the concert, the better! The details of the performance are often forgotten very quickly!
Proof read your paper. Excessive grammatical and/or typographical errors will affect your grade.
