It's not just in harsh times that families should support each other. In a healthy relationship, a family member is there with a shoulder to cry on when things go wrong, or to celebrate together when good news come. Juliet and her father’s relationship has a lack of support. This is shown when Capulet forces Juliet to marry Paris, despite her being in love with Romeo. Her father shows complete ignorance for her decision, and tells her to marry Paris or he will never speak to her again. “Get thee to church a’thursday,, or never after look me in the face.” (pg. 115) Likewise, Juliet fails to support her father. She knows she is the only child, and is the only chance of continuing the Capulet family name, so she lies to her father when she agrees to marry paris, which causes him to waste precious time and commitment. Another instance is when Juliet tells her mother she will become acquainted with Paris, but she doesn’t make much effort to do so. Again, their relationship is difficult and uneasy as a consequence of the absence of support for each other throughout the play.
When someone says "no, nothing's wrong", they can mean many things, depending on who's saying it. It’s important to communicate if one is unclear of what the other person meant, and to speak honestly and openly
