For prohibition I used a picture of a moonshining still. This show and explains the prohibition in the 1920’s perfectly. During the prohibition alcohol was illegal. This caused the 18th amendment. It was illegal to produce, transport or use alcohol. The still represents the it how the people made alcohol illegally and how alcohol was basically illegal.
For my next picture/artifact I chose a man play the trumpet. The trumpet was the artifact. The trumpet represents the Harlem renaissance because this was when a surge of creativity with African Americans was flourishing in Harlem a neighborhood in north New York City. This brought musicians, artist and writers.
The third picture is based around fundamentalism. I chose this picture because this was time in religion. When I think religion I think the bible. So in this picture Billy Sunday is holding a bible. The bible show the big swing in religion.
The fourth picture and artifact is about women’s rights in the 1920’s. The picture is an old poster or hand out that says for all women to go vote. This represents when women were allowed to vote. Also during the 1920’s the 19th amendment came into effect which allowed the women to vote. This poster also shows how women were also able to overcome many other challenges in the 1920’s. Voting was just one of the biggest ones.
My final picture is about sports in the 1920’s. The Babe Ruth card represents more than a sport. It represents part of our culture. There were more than writers and musicians, there was baseball. This nation will live in now was brought up with baseball as its main sport. In the 1920’s baseball was at its all-time high and one of the most famous play was Babe Ruth who played for the New York Yankees.
I used google to find the picture. www.google.com . I thought about everything else basically. I also use
