According to (Anthony Robbins, 2010) “The way we communicate with others and with ourselves ultimately determines the quality of our lives”. It is imperative that in any organization there needs to be a detailed and efficient flow of information. Communications is the key for a business to be successful, and it provides the solid foundation needed to construct a solid business process. One other very important part of communications in a company is the flow of that information which ultimately produces the results whether good or bad. This paper will describe how information is used and how it flows at Document Logistic Agency (DLA) Document Services Jacksonville in the IT department. It will also describe any concerns with properly controlling the information flow, including keeping it safe from unauthorized use. DLA Document Services Jacksonville is a Department of Defense (DoD) command that provides a web-based solution for ordering documents. The communication flow starts from the customer level as documents such as publications, posters, retirement programs, and many more available products are ordered online. Although the Document Services Online website where most of the communications is done electronically, there is still a need for communication flow for those of us here at DLA in order to produce the customers required results. I thought it would be fitting to compare the communications that I have experienced here at DLA and my military communications experience, to show some of the differences As a 23 year retired veteran of the United States Navy, communications becomes a major part of everyday life. Military men and women are introduced to what is known as the chain of command and the structure in which it is written at each command. Communications is something that we are taught not to take for granted because it could be

Many would say that our current school system is flawed in many ways, one of which is the manner in which they get funding and quality of the information they are implanting into our children’s minds. There however is a way we can fix this, that is if we take on a movement of Interdependence, this means everyone has a sense of citizenship in their community and the world for that matter, do you agree with this? If you do than you would be able to relate to Benjamin Barber and the writing in his article, The Educated Student: Global Citizen or Global Conumer?, because he brings attention to these topics. At the beginning of his article Barber discusses how our founding fathers intended for all of our citizens to be well educated, “John Adams argued hard for schools for every young man…Thomas Jefferson made the same argument for public schooling for every potential citizen in America…” (Barber 416.3.2-3). He then proceeds to discuss how in present time there public school systems are being forced to run advertisements of companies in exchange for funding, because they are not funded enough without it; “We have watched this commercialization and privatization, a distortion of the education mission and its content, going to the heart of our schools themselves.” (Barber 417.11.1). Benjamin Barber puts great emphasis on the fact that we as a nation need to better understand citizenship and what it means to be a citizen, and on top of that be more aware of the other nations of this world and our relationship to them. We are a very multicultural nation, but he expresses how little we care about that and how we don’t understand that it gives us an advantage that we need to capitalize on. (421.28-29). Benjamin Barber has written many other articles and is still pushing the movement for Interdependence.…

His job consists of full management of the accounting department, evaluation of performance, fundraising, handling student complaints, research, and evaluating tenure requests responsive to demands from the dean. Sam spends most of his time during the day in meetings, talking to people about various issues concerning the department, or its research. For a desk job, he does not stay in one place all the time, rather he is mostly up moving around from one place to another, working on whatever needs to be focused on at that time. Giving advice to students about their career decisions is one of Sam’s favorite things about his job, whereas his least favorite is handling the constraints of the budget and faculty evaluations. Before working here at LSU, Sam started off working as an international auditor at the age of 23, traveling to many different places, as well as living in the Northwest for some years. After that experience, he continued to find jobs within universities, until he came upon the opportunity at LSU, which he stated, “sort of just fell into my lap”. When the position was offered to him, his motive was because he wanted to see the accounting department to move in the direction he desired, in order for it to improve with its teaching research and service missions. He thinks his job is a fun one, sometimes a bit difficult, but much easier now working atmosphere, always learning something new and never has anything too repetitive to deal with. Information technology has made great strides in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of how information is organized, stored, processed, and shared in today’s organizations. With the vast amount of information available at the touch of a button, there are several human aspects that should be considered when implementing and maintaining an information management system. It can be a very difficult task for information managers to find the right combination of technology, access to information, and security to match the needs and information culture of the entire organization. Information managers must begin by thinking about how people use information, not how people use machines (Davenport 1994). It shouldn’t be assumed that once the right technology is in place, suitable information sharing will follow. Human nature can have a great deal of influence, good and bad, on how effective an IT system can be. With the enormous amount of information being exchanged, it is not possible to account for all of the unforeseen consequences of the expansion of information in use by today’s companies. Using computers to help individuals perform their jobs and tasks is one of the most important actions taken when implementing technology effectively. However, sometimes the result of this intervention is not successful at all and may even generate difficulties related to people participation in this process (De Souza Dias 1998). This paper will discuss a few of the human variables involved in the information technology equation. The first section of this paper will deal with senior management’s lack of understanding of the implementation process. The discussion will also include the characteristics of the IT professional. In the final section, training the end user will be discussed.…

There are many challenges a writer faces when writing a paper. One of these challenges is fragment sentences in the paper. It can happen often. It’s good to hear from you. You’re right to be fascinated about the internet; it can be a great tool. I use the internet nearly every day it’s like having a dictionary, thesaurus, almanac, encyclopedia, and library all rolled into one and open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The internet is a great tool however finding the information you’re looking for is like finding a needle in a stack of paperclips, lots of information that’s similar but not quite what you’re looking for it. The most common tool we use to find information on the internet is a search engine. Google has probably what many would consider the best search engine out there followed by one developed by Microsoft called Bing. Once you enter what you’re looking for into the search engine it will crawl through all the possible matches to your search and give organize them into the most likely matches starting with those with the highest probability of matching. Once you have this narrowed down list you have to vent the results for credibility. I try to find sources as close to the origin of the information as possible. I’ll go to manufacture websites, research firms, educational sites, government sites or anyone that has an established reputation that I can use as a point of reference. I try to avoid sites that are from free sources or open forums that allow for anonymous or guess. I generally believe that anything said by someone that doesn’t want to take responsibility for it shouldn’t be used as an informational source. It really comes down to common sense and if it sounds too good to be true it usually is. It also helps to know how to recognize rhetoric and bias information. Usually you can see a writers’ intentions within the first few posts or by checking out the links…
