Computers systems are an essential piece of equipment in many people’s everyday lives they have to deal with a lot of processes information and be able to go on the internet where there is a risk of getting viruses and bugs. This is why computer systems have to be equipped with the right software utilities to ensure that they are working at their best at all times. There are many different types of software utilities available for a computer system I will explain them in detail in this report.…
“The time and resources needed to implement a new health care information system can vary considerably based on the scope of the project, the needs and complexity of the organization, the number of applications being installed, and the number of user groups involved.” (Wager, Lee, & Glaser, 2009). The first part in implementing a system is to first assign a team of professionals within the organization. The responsibility and role of the team would be to plan, coordinate, budget, and manage the new system set up. The team should determine what the objectives and goals of the new system should be. After this the next step is to develop and implement the process. Some major steps should include how long each activity should take, resources and budget, and ways to alleviate completion and success. Components of an implementation plan are workflow and analysis, system installation, staff training, conversion, communication, and a go-live date. The size and needs of an organization is what determines the type of system that will be needed.…
Subsequent to a health care organization acquiring a new information system, is the system implementation process, the third of four stages in the systems development lifecycle. A significant amount of support and dedication is needed from senior executives and should take precedence within the organization. Adequate resources should be available to all individuals involved in the execution of the new system. User training, installing new networks, converting data, new procedures, and various other changes must be properly coordinated to avoid political, cultural and behavioral issues (Wager, Lee, & Glaser, 2009, Chapter 6, System Acquisition).…
In this briefing, I will be discussing the process for selecting and acquiring an information system within our health care organization. Moreover, I will include goals of our organization and stakeholders that will affect the selection process. The roles each of the organization stakeholders play in the selection and acquisition process.…
Health care organizations are constantly striving to keep up with technological advances in order to provide the best quality patient care imaginable. Success depends on implementing an information system that is designed to meet the quality standards set for the health care industry. Implementing an information system can be a big challenge, which is why choosing an information system that will assist the organization in meeting their goals is important. Including stakeholder input is also vital to ensuring the correct system is chosen. This briefing will discuss the process of selecting and acquiring an information system, how the goals of the organization, and how the stakeholders affect the selection process.…
According to the PowerPoint presentation developed by the Maryland Health Care Commission (2012), “The main goal of using technology in the health care arena is to improve the quality of patient care” this is extremely important (slide 2). In order to successfully implement a software system in a new setting, one must first understand the current state of the organization in terms of its staff, the people they serve, its process, and the supporting tools. There should be an assessment phase completed prior to implementing any EHR system. This should include determining if the organization is ready for…
Managing in a healthcare environment can often be hectic and present many challenges due to a constant change of policies and procedures. In order for any organization to be successful, the organization must identify goals and a plan to reach that goal set. To ensure that the organization is able to work effectively and provide quality care there are several processes available to produce quality care. These processes are strategic planning, performance improvement, and information systems. Each processes feeds directly into the next, when used correctly and simultaneously. These processes can greatly increase the quality of healthcare in an organization.…
Just as technology changes every year so does the way technology is implemented in the health care filed. Technology has greatly benefited health care in many ways from how fast a patient can be seen by a physician to how fast their medication can be in their hands ready for them to take. Technology is a tool that can be used to solve practical problems with the goal on increasing profitability. In health care this means that the more detailed and involved management becomes with new technology implementing , coordinating, planning, and simply managing all aspects of a new program or software implementation the better management will be at communicating to their staff their strategic goals for profitability.…

As the United States’ health care system evolves from an institution dependent on the acquisition of revenues from hospital admissions and procedures to one focused on managing health and wellness, the careful utilization and deployment of capital resources is critical to economic growth. Computer programs are a beneficial capital resource that supports the practice of medicine, such as computerized order entry or clinical decision support systems. For example, a computerized order entry system reduces the duplication of diagnostic testing while clinical decision support systems help providers manage chronic conditions. Industry experts agree the adoption of health care information technology (HIT) is necessary for improving quality and efficiency, although, as of 2006, only 12% of physicians and 11% of hospitals invested in technological improvements to their capital resources (Congress,…

Here at K@WRECORD stores, we strive to provide consumers with the latest in hi-tech and cutting edge service at all times. K@WRECORD stores must keep up with the technology of our times to stay competitive in the music industry. Therefore, K@WRECORD stores, is planning on taking its retail methods to a new level. Due to the recent high traffic and growing demand, I, Kaitlin Williams (Microsoft Analyst), am writing this proposal to implement a “Relational Database Management system”. The system we are proposing is Microsoft Access. The reason we are proposing to implement this new system is because, as you all my now times are changing and keeping data is not quite like it was when records first came out. The first form of “records,” or albums, were large vinyl records that took up a large amount of space and were worth much more in their time than they, or any other form from tapes to CDs, are worth today. The reason we are proposing to implement this new system is because as we all know, today’s music and records can be kept as a small file on your computer. This allows for the convenience of pulling up information such as music at the push of a button. We will be taking advantage of an amazing technology that is changing the industry and…
Starting up a business requires planning, making financial decisions, completing a series of legal activities, and having some knowledge of information systems. Businesses are comprised of five major information systems on three levels, according to the illustration in the image below. This proposal will briefly cover four of the five major information systems and go over the three levels of systems; however, the focus will be on the following four information systems, (1) functional area information system, (2) transaction processing system, (3) management information system, and (4) executive support system.…
This paper will propose several types of information systems that would work well for a small business that is being considered by a partner that has limited experience with information systems or technology. Types of information systems will be examined and their benefits and drawbacks. Additionally, the different types and the applications available to small business will be determined. The main types of business information that will be discussed in this paper are the Transaction Processing Systems (TPS), Management Information Systems (MIS), Decisions Support (DSS), and Expert Systems.…
