Interior Design Introduction

When choosing an interior designer, it is always helpful to learn about other projects that they have designed. The interior design project entails reworking the kitchen and dining room areas as well as interior paint for the entire home and furnishings for the entire home.

For homeowners who are not ready to sell their house, interior redecorating, reupholstering, and fresh paint colors can create an entirely new look and feel to their home.

When choosing a color palette, the client’s personal taste is of utmost importance to the interior design. As the location might make some people envision a beach home or the relaxed casual style that is popular ion west coast interior design, but one style does not fit all. In this case, the client preferred a traditionally beautiful interior, updated with upholstery fabrics, paint colors, and furniture shapes that create a contemporary look and feel.

The colors of the redesigned formal living room are blue and white, which are classic, traditional, and perfect for a living room. The formal living room will have new life with custom designed furniture.

The interior design color palette for the kitchen and family room are plum and burgundy, which creates a cozy, yet polished feel to the rooms. The kitchen is being updated with upholstery of a built in kitchen nook bench, new window treatments, and new paint. The family room will have a completely new look and feel with the addition of a custom built-in entertainment system, as well as new pieces of furniture, new paint color, and window treatments.

Whether you are planning to redesign one room, update your window treatments and paint colors, or give your entire home a facelift, to create the comfortable, elegant home that you desire.

My dining room has white walls, a wood table that is a lighter shade, and white cabinets that hold little detailed plates. The room needed a pop of color, and the painting by Pamela was the perfect fit. The painting isn’t distracting, so it doesn’t take over the room in any way. I love how simple it is! The viewer can see the painting in many different ways because it is not that…

This morning I got my tea and drove down to Moody Nolan, yet again. As I went up the elevator, I was greeted by Lisa Merket, an interior designer, telling me that I had the opportunity to shadow her. While I was in interior design department, I learned about distinct fabrics and materials. I walked to the fabric library, a collection of supplies, and helped a woman named Eva pick out a design for her countertop. We both agreed to do a matte granite, considering the fact her kitchen is contemporary. Lisa then taught me how to use photoshop. The dublin Marriott hotel asked Moody Nolan to decorate the exterior and interior of the building. With that, Lisa gave me a blank outline and I got to change the outdated textures and furniture. Satisfied…

You walk in and you automatically look around to see if this is somewhere you would want to be. In the article “Walls Can Talk...but Are They Speaking to Teens?” the author Margaret Sullivan tells us that an environment can affect a person as soon as they enter a room or building and that environments can influence both our feelings and our actions. The color of a room can help to set a mood in the class. The color blue promotes a calm feeling and shows creativity and intelligence; yellow is cheerful and energetic and orange increases the oxygen supply to the brain and stimulates mental activity. Most classrooms you see will be white which promotes clean, pure and a sense of peacefulness. Colors have deep unconscious meanings that affect our thinking and rational. Researching colors and planning is a vital part of the design…

Life in the sixties focused on self-expression and home design was just the place for people to make their individual statements about peace and love. Most of the colors in the era were inspired by nature. The color scheme we chose utilizes the four main colors seen everywhere in the 60’s.These colors included blue, orange, yellow and red; however we chose to use blue-green, yellow-orange, red-violet (pink), and yellow-green hues. The colors share a low chroma, or saturation, and dull luminescence to share a similar tonal range. The blue-green compliments yellow-orange, and the yellow-green does the same to red-violet to create a double complimentary color scheme. With the passing of 1950’s…

In the scene showing The Bride driving up to Pasadena California to confront Vernita Green, we see an typical suburban neighborhood full of bright green colors from the sunlight shining on the grass and toys littering the lawn, depicting a sense of leisure and hospitality. As Black Mamba approaches the front door, Vernita shocked face as she stares right at Black Mamba and the flashback that came with it put the audience on edge and in shock as well. As the fight commences, the audience is in disbelief to see the two of them tearing up the living room's art deco style and bright colors as if they were fighting in a arena. Another prime example of color and lighting is the entire setting of the House of Blue Leaves. From the moment we see O-Ren's group wearing primarily black suites enter the dance floor, we see an illumination of vibrant golds from the band's clothing, The Bride's classic Bruce Lee yellow and black suite and the light illuminating the dance floor and band.…
