Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) is a USD 14.3 billion giant involved in technology, engineering, construction and manufacturing sector. It was founded at Bombay Presidency, British India (1938). The company operates in multiple businesses that serve the needs of different industries like Hydrocarbon, Heavy Engineering, L&T Construction, Power, Electrical & Automation, Machinery & Industrial Products, Information Technology, Financial Services, Shipbuilding, and Railway Projects. It has built India’s first nuclear powered submarine called INS Arihant. It designs & manufactures a wide range of switchgear products and systems which exported to more than 30 countries. L&T has more than 130 subsidiaries and 15 associate companies. The company earned gross revenue of 571,639 million with 10% growth rate (Y-o-Y)
The company will provide ER&D services through the acquisition of Dell’s Engineering Services Business in the financial year 2014. The wholly owned subsidiary of the company - L&T Infotech has acquired Information System resource Centre Pvt. Ltd (ISRC) in the previous financial year. In the incorporation L&T - Ramboll Consulting Engineers Ltd., the company has acquired Ramboll Denmark AS’s 50% stake. Through this acquisition, this incorporation is renamed as L&T Infrastructure Engineering Ltd. by owning whole stakes in the firm. Company’s subsidiary L&T Technology Services has joint ventured with Thales Software India Pvt. Ltd. this strategic decision was provide to develop latest trends in the avionics industry.
