Learning a Foreign Language Essay Example
Nowadays, people want to learn a foreign language. In Spain many people learn English, because if you know English, you can get a better job. And if you Know English, you can travel all over the world, because you don’t have problems to communicate with anybody.

Spanish people study English in the official school of languages or in an academy. But they need a lot of time to learn English.
On the other hand, kids start to study English when they are three years old. When they finish school, they are able to read and write in English, but they can’t speak it and they don’t understand English when they listen to somebody.

What is the problem? In my opinion, the problem is that they don’t need to speak English in Spain in their usual life. In their education, they have to learn English, but this isn’t enough. Not only should the Government include English lessons in primary schools or high schools, but also include English programmes in the Spanish television. And kids should practise oral English, because in a language the most important thing is communication.

So, the question is: If in Spain you need a lot of time to learn English or another language. How is the best way to learn a foreign language?
I think, if you want to learn a foreign language, you can travel to a place where people speak this language. When you need to go to the supermarket or the cinema, or you need to buy tickets to travel by bus or train, or you want to go to the restaurant... you need to speak English, and you will learn English. I’m sure!

But, not only you learn a new language, but you also know a new culture, new customs, a new country, and you meet other people.... and you are also more independent and these things will be good for you.

In conclusion, if you want to learn English, you should travel to England.

The major languages in the United States are English, Spanish, and Chinese, with these last two quickly gaining prominence, and about 17.9 percent of Americans speak a language other than English at home. Keeping this in mind, it is almost essential today to learn a second language. Being bi-, tri- or multilingual has many advantages, the more obvious being that one can communicate with exchange students, immigrants, and fellow online gamers, chatters, and forum users, as well as to bridge cultures and societies through lingual commonality and better understanding. It also can give a person a fresh eye for their own society and culture, and even improve understanding of the mechanics of one's own language, all by comparison.…

Many people argue why not the other way around with learning Spanish and I can understand that it would be great if it was implemented more in schools at younger ages such as even starting as young pre-k. The only problem with that idea though is it isn’t, so the reason I say English should be learned in order to enter into the country is because that the majority of text/writings which cause the idea that English is the majority.…

Not only would this enrich the economy and culture of the associated country, but it would allow the education of its youth to be furthered. By encouraging kids to enroll in foreign language classes in school and emphasizing the importance of remaining dedicated to the course throughout high school, those benefits can be possible. Although it may take some extra effort, the asset of learning a foreign language outweigh the amount of work that one would have to put into learning it. The cons that come with being unilingual are clear when considering all of the advantages that multilinguals have over them; while one multilingual Canadian photographer in Ecuador is successfully capturing the beauty of the Galapagos Islands with her new Ecuadorian memory card, a monolingual American photographer is struggling to translate the address of her motel into Spanish, so her cab driver can drop her off. Therefore, It is essential that English-speaking countries cease to be monolingual, for it is a grave disadvantage that is “hurting our country in more ways than we realize”(Source…
