Lebron James vs Michael Jordan Essay Example
LeBron vs. MJ In the article “LeBron James: 4 Reasons King James Will Never Get Close to Michael Jordan” by Sammy Sucu, he attempts to explain how LeBron James will never be as great as Michael Jordan. He does so by using four attributes he believes make a player great in the NBA. These attributes include: On court demeanor, success, crunch time, and mental strength. He uses them to show how weak LeBron James is in these areas and how Michael Jordan flourished in them and became a legend. Sucu makes a decent argument that LeBron cannot be compared to the legacy of Michael Jordan. The article “LeBron James: 4 Reasons King James Will Never Get Close to Michael Jordan” by Sammy Sucu, begins with a seemingly fair comparison between LeBron and Michael. He gives credit to LeBron by saying that he is one of the best players to play the game of professional basketball since the retirement of Michael Jordan but then he clearly states his argument that LeBron will never be as great as Michael Jordan. Then he makes comparisons on how LeBron and Michael are different. He gives credit to LeBron James saying that he is a more physically gifted athlete and that he is a better distributor of the ball than Jordan. He recognizes that both players are very talented but LeBron doesn’t possess the intangibles that Michael Jordan had. Then the author goes into detail with his four reasons on why LeBron will never come close to Jordan. The first reason Sucu gives on why LeBron isn’t on the same level Jordan was, is the on court demeanor. Sucu explains how every time Jordan stepped in the court it seemed though as he was a general on the court. The author compares him to Robert E. Lee and George Washington put together. Then he goes into how cool headed Michael Jordan is. He explains how Jordan would never give up and he would fight until the very end even if his team were to lose the game. Now he goes into LeBron’s side of the tale. When LeBron takes the court, Sucu describes it

That is best known for winning eleven straight NBA championship, but he is not considered to be the greatest player due to the fact that during the time he played he didn’t receive the amount of money many people believe he deserved. Concealed behind each of these profiles is teamwork. There is no way to make it to the top in any sport without it. If a professional player is only performing within the confines of their responsibilities and nothing else, then they are not playing to their max capability, in my opinion. Just because someone is good in sports doesn’t mean that they have it all together in their interpersonal relationships either. And, relationship changes everything. John Wooden said “those who work alone will never become all they could become if they were working in cooperation with others”. Wooden said loyalty was the force that forges individuals into a team and that it was what gets us through hard times. Regarding team spirit, the coach emphasized that eagerness communicates an attitude of “I’ll be happy to sacrifice personal accomplishments for the good of the team”. “We don’t have to be superstars to reach competitive greatness. All we have to do is learn to rise to every occasion, give our best effort and make those around us better as we do…

People recognise Lebron James as not only a legendary basketball player, but also an expert wordsmith. As Lebron left his home of Cleveland with the promise of fame and fortune in the land of the Miami Heat, he betrayed his hometown. Many expressed outrage about his betrayal and found themselves offended by his very name. People met the sudden switch from Miami and back to Cleveland with much anger and controversy from both cities. People threw rumors and hateful words his way. Surrounded by all of the anger, Lebron released a beautifully crafted essay using strong rhetoric to shield himself from the blows. After this essay was released, those who had assaulted him began to follow and to support his decision. Many find it difficult to win the hearts of those who feel wronged. Yet with careful diction and presumably honest emotions and truths, it can be done. Lebron did just that.…

He also won 5 MVP awards in the years of 1987, 1990, 1991, 1995, 1997. Jordan had a very exciting dunk contest in 1987. After a dual versus Dominique Wilkins he won the NBA dunk contest after his very famous dunk from the free throw line.He had also won defensive player of the year that same season! But in the years of 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997, and 1998 he won in total 6 NBA finals rings! For him playing 15 seasons, that is a great record! Just to put this put there he only played for 2 NBA teams, ( Washington Wizards, and of course Chicago Bulls.) And to only play for 2 teams and win 6 rings is pretty impressive. With his many awards and his greatness and him being able to pull off 6 rings I can clearly see why people can see him as the ,“Greatest of all…
