Throughout the movie it appears that most of the shots were taken using a hand held camera. For example, anytime that the actors would be running, walking on rough ground or moving in an exaggerated motion the camera would be moving with them. Although the camera would appear steady sometimes, it was still shaking more than it would if a steadicam would have been used. The effect of the hand held camera causes the audience to feel confused and uncomfortable at times. However, it also causes the scenes to feel more realistic and more engaging with the audience. The use of the hand held…

Inception is sweet relief for a Hollywood plagued by reboots, remakes, and disappointing sequels. Although his talent has made him an asset in the world of corporate espionage, it has cost him everything that he loves. Cobb is given a chance at redemption when he is hired to do the seemingly impossible: plant an idea in someone’s mind. “Inception” begins with a dream inside a dream. The team of extractors is trying to fool someone into thinking they’ve woken up; when in reality they’re still dreaming. In this scene, there is an angry mob coming for the cast and they are running out of time. In order to wake up Cobb (DiCaprio), has to be pushed from a chair into a bathtub. This shows the psychological principle “kicks” are real. This principle is evident throughout the entire movie and is very relevant in showing how a person sometimes needs to feel like they’re falling in order to wake up.…
Inception came out to theaters last 2010. It is an action, adventure and sci-fi film starring Leonardo DiCaprio (Cobb), Joseph Gordon Levitt (Arthur) and Ellen Page (Ariadne). The movie revolves around Cobb, whose job is to steal information from the minds of people through their dreams. He was given the task to perform the reverse called Inception on a businessman named Fischer in exchange for having the charges against him dropped and going back to America to finally see his children again. In the process of doing his job, Mal (Cobb’s wife who already passed away) keeps on appearing in the dreams as a projection of Cobb’s subconscious and becomes a danger to Cobb and his team.…

In the Random House Webster’s College Dictionary one definition of bamboozled reads: “to deceive or get the better of by underhandedness; hoodwink (p. 105)”. In Spike Lee’s movie, Bamboozled (Lee, 2000), he explores how society buys into the stereotypes of African American in the media. Bamboozled (Lee, 2000), is a satirical film that explores many different genres; including drama, comedy, perhaps black comedy, and music. Lee's basing the movie in satire form was a brilliant move because in it he was able to push the envelope harder than drama or straight comedy would have allowed.…
The movie Inception is about a man named Dom Cobb whom him and his friends enter into dreams to put ideas into Cobbs mind. In order for all of this to work, the dreamer must be in a deep stage of sleep. Cobb and his friends make a three-layered dream within a dream where they can disguise themselves as part of the dreamers dream. Throughout the movie we find that Cobb and his wife have before gone through he three-layers of the dreams and they grew old in their dream life. The only way Cobb could escape it though was to convince his wife that they weren’t in reality. When his wife woke up she still though she was dreaming so in order for her to try escaping she ended up killing herself.…
In the midst of the hustle and bustle of everyday life, some people want to escape reality and live out their fantasy. In the movie Inception , people do this by falling into a dream state; a level of consciousness in which they are in complete control of who is involved and what happens. Though, when they wake up, nothing has changed. The main character, Cobb, had this particular experience. He was distracted by the love of his life in his subconscious and was faced with the conflict of staying in limbo for the rest of his life with her, or living out his life “up top”, in the real world, with his children. In the end I believe he finally figured out where he belonged, that being with his children. This brings me to the conclusion that the ending is in fact reality.…
Inception demonstrates key special effects and audio/video features that give the audience a better understanding of the substantial obstacles each character within the film encounters. The film’s main characters consist of Dominick “Dom” Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his business partner Arthur (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). Cobb is the principal practitioner of the artistic science and experimental military technology of what is known as “extraction”, or inserting oneself into a chosen subject's dreams to either obtain hidden information or “plant a seed/idea” in the subject’s subconscious memory without the subject knowing. This rare ability had made Cobb a very important man in the new world of corporate infiltration, but it had also made him an international fugitive and costed him everything he had ever loved. The majority of the scenes within this film take place in these sort of interconnected dream worlds. “This structure creates a framework where actions in the real or dream worlds ripple across others. The dream is always in a state of production, and shifts across the levels as the characters navigate it” (Best 1).…
The occurrence of La Amistad was a symbolic and meaningful part of American history, one in which Steven Spielberg tried to capture in his film. La Amistad, said to be one of the turning points of the abolishment of slavery and catalyst of Civil War, was a major event, which brought up the true meaning of morality and justice. The film's accuracy of the factual events that occurred with the crisis of La Amistad can be noted and applauded for, and should help Americans realize that a nation can have it's imperfections, and "dark side". This visual account of the mistreatment of slaves should question the morality and justice, which our nation holds so much pride in.…
