Computing Usable Subnets and Hosts vLab (40 points)
Instructions for the Computing Usable Subnets and Hosts Exercise:
NOTE!!: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CLICK ON THE DIAGRAM TO START THE LAB.
NOTE: The diagram displayed during the experiment is not used.
The only buttons that you need to be concerned with are the “Suggested Approach” and the “Sample Solution.”
Write a paragraph (minimum five college-level sentences) below that summarizes what was accomplished in this lab, what you learned by performing it, how it relates to this week’s TCO’s and other course material; and just as important, how you feel it will benefit you in your academic and professional career. (20 points)
I learned how to find the number of bits allowed for a certain amount of subnets in an IP address. I also learned how to find how many hosts were allowed per subnet. This all pertains to the TCO’s because it is a part of the network design. Knowing how the sub-networks work and how many hosts are in a subnet of an IP address. I feel that this is a great basis for learned about IP addressing and network design. Without this knowledge and information, I could not move on to learned more in an academic or professional environment.
For the ElementK Computing Usable Subnets and Hosts Lab you must show your work in finding the needed bits to borrow and maximum number of hosts.
