Pit Bull Ban Essay Example
Pit Bull Ban

Pit bulls are wonderful dogs, which really can bring no harm to people and other dogs. It’s the owners that train them to be this way, and now these loving dogs are being punished for their owner’s mistakes. Over the past years Pit bull, and Pit Bull breeds have attacked many people, and now the government is taking actions. The only problem is that Pit Bulls are being destroyed. Pit Bulls can be gentle and smart dogs. A good example is “Chess”, owned by Catherine Cochrane, who was the first person to take on the “controversial provincial legislation“. Catherine Cochrane states, “She’s a cute, well-behaved dog”. Now “Chess” can’t play ball with the dogs in the park, because she is not allowed. The government keeps complaining about Pit Bull attacks, but really there are many other breeds that attack people and animals that we don’t here about. Statistics from the Center for Disease Control and Preventions shows that also Rottwielers, German Shepards, Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, and other wolf breeds have been know for manatees on humans, of course the government will not talk about these breeds, because that would ruin their chances of winning the court order, and of course the government “always” has win and be right. They also think that destroying these breeds will not prevent other dog attacks. Also they say that the way an owner treats and trains a dog will effect on their aggressiveness. By simply playing with your dog in an aggressive manner, most of the time, you teach them that it is okay to bite, and attack. Like Lawyer Clayton Ruby said” Bad dogs are made by bad people”. A lot of people buy Pit Bulls so they can use them to hurt people or use them as guard dogs, and this is the way that dogs become aggressive, and even if you use your dog as a guard dog they can get off their leash and attack someone innocent. These sick people that train these dogs to be this way will simply move onto bigger worse breads and

Unfortunately in today's society there have been many cases of over breeding for this dog which has created temperament problems in their bloodlines, leading to inconsistent behavior. Pit Bulls over bred today are usually used to fight illegally in run down urban areas or are kept outside and are used to guard junkyards, people's houses or private property. The over breeding of these dogs led to people housing them that were not qualified to handle this breed. Though they do not get overly large they have a body mass that can weigh up to 90 pounds, and a lockjaw with 800 pounds of pressure. These dogs are very smart, but require a lot of care and attention. The Pit Bull will also learn to imitate the behavior of its owner. People who neglect these dogs or use aggressive force to train them will often have an aggressive dog likely to turn and attack. When kept in safe living conditions and trained properly these dogs are excellent family pets with a natural guard dog instinct to protect its…

Despite this common opinion, an experiment was once performed. Fifty Pit Bulls were rescued from a fighting ring. Forty nine of the fifty dogs were rehabilitated. Some went to shelters such as Best Friends and many are well-loved family members today. The testing used to determine these dogs' ability to fit into society was exhaustive, extensive, and carefully carried out. Pit Bulls are different from other dogs and potential owners need to be made aware of the facts before considering rescuing or purchasing one. For example, a dog lover who has had Bichons all her life will be sorely surprised unless she does her homework and understand the bully breeds. Pits need a lot of structure, a very pronounced human alpha, training, exercise and lots of attention. The owner needs consistency, time, energy and quite possibly some…

Pit bulls are not a bad breed of dogs as people say they are. They're nice dogs when treated right. They are only aggressive but they're breeding and training. They can't be bad dogs because they don't have a conscious. Michael Vick proved the dogs could be rehabilitated and put Into good homes. All but one dog was ruled safe from aggression. Would it surprise you to learn that pit bulls used to be America’s darlings? Before the mid-80s, stories of pit bull attacks are practically non-existent. There is even some confusion over exactly which breed of dog is a pit bull — the definition includes the American pit bull terrier, the Staffordshire terrier and, at times, the bulldog. This confusion seems to have dogged the breed from the beginning,…

They are quite loyal dogs. Pit bulls tend to make terrible guard dogs, they love people too much. However, this is not always a good thing. Pmarinc says “because pit bulls are so people-orientated they do not make good guard dogs. Even if their owner is a criminal commit crimes. The myth that pit bulls are extremely vicious is false, pit bulls are only vicious if you raise them to be. Pitbull Legislation

The problem is gang members, drug dealers and dog fighters have been known to train these animals because it often has been claimed that the pit-bull and other “fighting” breeds are especially dangerous because of human breeding selection for physical and “temperamental” traits functional in pit fighting (Budiansky, 2001). . The media spotlights these incidents altering the perception of people whose only exposure to these animals is seeing them in connection with criminals. To these people outlawing so called “dangerous breeds” may sound like a logical solution. However, responsible dog owners are having their homes invaded and being forced to watch a beloved family member being taken away to be “destroyed”. Not because the dog had bitten someone or it was being used in illegal activity, but because it has been labeled dangerous for no other reason than being a pit-bull. Cities, counties and states all across the nation are enacting these pit-bull bans in reaction to highly publicized criminal activity involving these animals. Can you imagine enacting a ban on Pomeranians because a criminal was the owner of one?…

In the dialogue Crito, Crito is making the argument to Socrate that he needs to escape jail, because he is an innocent man, that he doesn’t deserve to die, and that he needs to leave before he loses his life. While, Socrate counter argues that he must stay in jail and reserve the punishment that they voted for him, because for him to ran and escape jail that in itself is injustice even if he is in fact an innocent man. In Socrate’s counter argument he proclaims that if he and Crito came up with a plan to help him escape they would have to come up with unjust solutions to get him out, and those solutions would involve actually corrupting more innocent men, and if caught they would also be prosecuted, and this would be enforcing the accusations…

People say pit-bulls are dangerous and that they are monsters; however, humans are the real danger and the real monsters. Pit-bulls should not be blamed for their owners mistakes; therefore, people should not blame an entire dog breed for the few who have been trained to be aggressive and mean. The owners should be at fault, not the breed of the dog; the breed’s owners have raised them to be aggressive and mean. Although, in certain people’s opinions, they are mean to others, but they are actually great dogs to have as pets. Humans have always been the real monster in these situations, yet most people do not see it that way. Society sees only the worst, they will notice when pit-bulls fight with others dog’s or act aggressively towards a human; however, they never blame the owner. There are owners out there that train their dogs to protect them or be aggressively with others dog’s; thus, due to their idiotic move, society looks…

Although prohibition's goal was to a increase sense of integrity in the United States, it encouraged normally law-abiding citizens to break the law, enabled the growth and influence of organized crime, and increased levels of corruption in government and law-enforcement. The purpose of Prohibition was to protect the values sheltered by “Americans” nuclear family (Clark 13). Prohibition in the United States was designed to reduce drinking by eliminating the businesses that manufactured, distributed, and sold alcoholic beverages. Prohibition was supposed to lower crime and corruption, reduce social problems, lower taxes needed to support prisons and poorhouses, and improve health and hygiene in America. Instead, Alcohol became more dangerous to consume; organized crime blossomed; courts and prisons systems became overloaded; and endemic corruption of police and public officials occurred. In 1919, America was torn with the decision of prohibiting liquor from being sold. There were many incentives to do so. However, political officials did not take into account that people would get what they wanted regardless of the law. With prohibition, America was set for an…
