Course Description
The purpose of management course is to analyze the management process of a firm with four key functions of planning, organizing, leading and controlling to achieve organizational goals. It also includes understanding of roles and responsibilities of managers and the skills necessary to outperform on various managerial levels with an understanding of external and internal environment. This course also introduces the concepts of entrepreneurship and starting business from a domestic level and growing till global reach. Students will learn management process and strategies for their knowledge and exposure and will practice such concepts and tools through analysis of cases, and interactive exercises. The major topics of emphasis in this course include key terms in management, business vision and mission, external, internal and global environmental analyses, and implementation of management functions.
Course Objectives
This course will enable student to understand and analyze the management process of any organization based on four functions of management to attain organizational goals by using the resources in effective and efficient manner. External environment scanning and implementation of necessary changes in internal environment accordingly, assessing firm’s resources and developing human capital to compete in dynamic world. Further this course will facilitate students to learn the different stages of a business cycle in order to establish a new business being an entrepreneur and enhance the scope of business from domestic market to international, multinational and global environment. Additionally students will be able to write develop business plan and apply different types of business models.
