Riding a Roller Coaster Essay Example
Roller Coaster Ride A roller coaster ride contains many loops and twists one after another. At first glance, the ride looks terrifying. I never thought I would see myself ride one until one day my niece forced me to get on one. She was only 13 years old at that time, and I was 20 years old. Being younger than me, I did not want to show her how scared I was, so I dropped my pride and rode it. After discovering the excitement of riding the roller coaster, I became addicted to it and kept riding it over and over again. During the holidays, my family and I went to Enchanted Kingdom in the Philippines. My little niece, Mai, wanted to ride the roller coaster called The Space Shuttle. Being the oldest, I had to follow her even though I was scared to ride it. While waiting in line for our turn, I noticed many people were anxious to get on, but for me I was nervous like a little boy. The sun was burning onto my skin and made me sweat more as the line grew shorter. I glanced up to the roller coaster, and I saw that it sped up a couple of times like a plane. At that point, I started to get butterflies in my stomach. By the time I was about to turn around, it was already too late. “It’s our turn,” my niece yelled with excitement. I became quiet and gave my ticket stub to the person in charge of the ride. We boarded and buckled ourselves in as tightly as we could. After buckling up, I told my niece that I was scared and I would be closing my eyes during the whole ride. She simply replied by saying, “Don’t close your eyes or it’ll be even scarier; raise your hands up so it’ll be more fun!” The ride was about to start, and my legs were
Tumaneng 2 shivering and my fingers could not keep still. There was a countdown board in front of us with lights that were red, yellow, and then green. Once we hit the green light, the ride shot forward. I could not believe how fast the ride was going, and all the twist and turns lifted my stomach. I remembered what my niece said, and I

Climbing into the lime green car, my fear was over taking me. I was getting ready to ride the Titan, an adrenaline pumping roller coaster ride at Six Flags. It was easily the scariest ride at the park, in my opinion, with its enormous peaks, its deep descents, and double helix like turns was enough to make me sick. The ride began. Ascending up in the car on the canary yellow track, into the humidity filled, bright sky, the people observing from below resembled little army ants . The aerial view of Dallas was breathtaking, as I reached the peak of the ride and looked around. Passengers occupying the cars in front of me started falling off, like a cliff. I let out a high-pitched shrill, as we plummeted toward the Earth below. Traveling…

When you're a kid you would never think of almost dying at sesame place, but that's exactly what happened to me. As my family and I entered the park, my eyes grew with amazement as I looked around me. There were zooming roller coasters, families laughing, toddlers running around with a sugar high from all the cotton candy they ate, and especially the terrifying, enormous, gray and blue water slide, I looked at the slide with fear and excitement in my eyes. I knew right then and there that I was going to go on that slide no matter the consequences.…

A roller coaster is an amusement park attraction that is made of a light railroad track with many sharp turns and deep slopes, on which people ride in small fast open carts. The Russians created slides out of ice. The slides would go up to 70 and 80 feet tall and there were drops of 50 feet. People traveled down the slide and would land into huge sand piles. They first appeared during the 17th century. Slides grew favor with the Russian upper class ("Amusement Park Physics -- Roller Coaster”).…

The Roller Coaster has a long varied history. It has origins in large ice slides found mostly in Russia around the 16th and 17th century. In the 1800s many appeared, primarily in America. The industry continued into the 1920s, which are known as the “golden age” for roller coasters. Production for roller coasters slowed down during the Great Depression, and by WW2 very few were being produced.…

It all started at the end of eighth grade when our class had taken a graduation party to Six Flags in Eureka, Missouri. Having never been to an amusement park, my adrenaline was through the roof, and I was excited for the day I had ahead of me. The car ride there seemed to last an eternity. We discussed all of the rides we were going to wait in line for, and how we were going to try to avoid vomiting on top of the highest rollercoaster in the whole park, Mr. Freeze. The…

At thirteen years old, I was the kid that no one wanted to drag to an amusement park with because I strictly stuck to the merry go round and swings. My parents were always eagerly trying to persuade me to at least try a roller coaster but I refused. Deep inside I wanted to be fearless and be able to jump on the attraction like there was no problem, but I was too nervous. All of my friends, including my family were adrenaline junkies, always wanting to get on the roughest and worst rides of them all. This naturally caused me to become even more frustrated when attending Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri, which was very often. It wasn’t till one day when visiting the park that I decided I was not just going to take a risk, but I was determined to overcome my first roller coaster.…

I had a great experience about roller coasters even though I have not climbed one before. Roller coaster is a popular amusement ride developed for amusement parks and modern theme parks. There are two main types of roller coasters which are the steel and wooden roller coaster. Steel coasters have tubular steel tracks, and are known for their smooth ride and often convoluted shapes that frequently turn riders’ upside-down via inversions. Wooden coasters have flat steel tracks, and are typically renowned by enthusiasts for their rougher ride and "air time" produced by negative G-forces when the train reaches the top of hills along the ride. There are also hybrid roller coasters which combine a steel structure with flat tracks or a wooden structure with tubular tracks and a wooden roller coaster is most often classified as a roller coaster with running rails made of flattened steel strips mounted on laminated wooden track. Occasionally, the support structure may be made out of a steel lattice or truss, but the ride remains classified as a wooden roller coaster due to the track design. Because of the limits of wood, wooden roller coasters in general do not have inversions (when the coaster goes upside down), steep drops, or extremely banked turns (overbanked turns). I would prefer to ride on a steel roller coaster because to me steel coaster looks like it is more modernized that a wooden roller coaster although there are many wooden roller coasters that are modernized these days.…

When I was about 8 years old, my family took me to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. At that time, I had no idea what a roller coaster really was. They asked me to get on a ride that flipped me every direction possible. I felt sick to my stomach, scared and wanted to cry. I still to this day, will never get on a roller coaster. I’m terrified of heights, flipping upside down and going extremely fast. I’m hoping, one day I will conquer my fear of roller coasters to make up for all my lost time with my friends.…

At such a young age every little thing scared me. When the ride began, I snuggled right up to my dad because the darkness scared me. I didn’t know what was going to pop out and scare me. As the music began to get faster, so did the ride. It pushed me side to side, then out of nowhere there was the big hill. As we were going down this gigantic hill, I could start to see the light. Seeing the light again, I knew the ride was over. The ride was similar to the Peer’s adventure. The darkness of the rid could be the trolls carrying huge rocks blocking Peer’s way back in, the faster the ride got could be Peer running faster away from the trolls, and the louder the music out could be the more trolls chasing after me. Lastly, the big drop back into the light could be the Mountain King throwing me out of the…
