Registered Nurse Where would the medical field be if it didn’t have nurses in it? The doctors would be even more over worked and would be so behind. The elderly would have to depend solely on their families to take care of them and wouldn’t receive the care that they need because the family couldn’t provide it. The hospitals and doctors’ offices would be so short handed and so busy that hardly anyone would get helped. Registered Nurses are the backbone of the health care; they get the patients ready to see the doctor by taking simple things like height, weight, temperature, and blood pressure. RNs have many of responsibilities and duties, difficult working conditions, and long hours; many years of education, training, and then continuing education to stay up to date on all new procedures; and a great expectation of future job.
