Romeo & Juliet
Is it fate that decides your life or the choices you make? A tragic love story which displays the difference of a person’s destiny versus their free will to live their own life, with the choice they make. Romeo and Juliet 2- star crossed lovers who take their lives. Whose families were foes and the hatred continued on with their parents. These 2- star crossed lovers go through a series of misfortunate events to be with each other, but was it the fate of their families hatred or their choices that led to their demise.
It was fate that their families hated each other. The Capulet’s & Montague’s families have been feuding forever and till now it lasted. “Two households, both alike in dignity, from ancient grudge break to new munity, where civil blood makes civil hands unclean. From forth the fatal loins of these two foes…” It was destiny for them to meet because of the families hate and both families being so alike in dignity they would want all of Verona to know their children and how great they are especially their enemies. Also it was fate that the serving man asked Romeo for help reading the guest list and inviting him to the party. Where Romeo and Juliet met for the first time and fell in love with each other.
Though it was their free will to go against their families for each other. At the balcony scene they were saying that they would do anything to be with each even though know that they were enemies. “O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name; or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love and I’ll no longer be a Capulet.” She would give up being a Capulet and would go against her family for him. And he knows she a Capulet “Is she a Capulet? O dear
