My First Rollercoaster Ride A time when I was scared out of my mind was when I went to six flags in New Jersey with my Middle School class. It was the best experience ever but it all changed when everyone suggested that we go on the rollercoaster. At First I wasn’t with the decision that we should go on the roller coaster. I was scared of how high the drop was and hearing the sounds of the people before me scream with fear and excitement in their voices. It really wasn’t helping me differ my decision to not go on but since everyone wanted me to go I gathered the courage to say ok. As we walk towards the famous Roller coaster known as the Superman a thousand thoughts rush through my head as the sounds of the thrill seekers get louder and louder. As we walked to our seats to ride the rollercoaster I was so afraid I couldn’t step towards the seats the fear of probably dying from a roller coaster fall at 200 feet terrified me. So my Teacher said its ok you don’t have to go through with this if you don’t want to so I made up my mind and sat in the seat along side of my teacher. The roller coaster tight belt slams down securing our chests like vests the staff steps around us to make sure the belt is fascine and gives us a ready check for anybody with second thoughts then pushes the button. Before the rollercoaster cranks to the top he floor drops with our feet suspended in mid air and began its ascent to the top of the drop point. I felt a tear roll down my face so I closed my eyes hearing my fellow class mates say you can see the whole park from hear made me curious to see. I opened my eyes they were right but we were close to the drop point and down we went I screamed so loud people in the back just stop screaming because I was so loud. My heart raced so fast it felt like it was going to come out of my chest I was so

Climbing into the lime green car, my fear was over taking me. I was getting ready to ride the Titan, an adrenaline pumping roller coaster ride at Six Flags. It was easily the scariest ride at the park, in my opinion, with its enormous peaks, its deep descents, and double helix like turns was enough to make me sick. The ride began. Ascending up in the car on the canary yellow track, into the humidity filled, bright sky, the people observing from below resembled little army ants . The aerial view of Dallas was breathtaking, as I reached the peak of the ride and looked around. Passengers occupying the cars in front of me started falling off, like a cliff. I let out a high-pitched shrill, as we plummeted toward the Earth below. Traveling…

When I was 8 years old my family and I went to knotts berry farm. Being a small kid the time, I barely reached the height minimum to board. When I got on, I had to share a seat and lap bar with my dad and we didn't put the seat belt on correctly. When the ride started, I could feel me slide around and my body lift off the seat. The whole ride I ended up hugging the lap bar, that wasn't even pushing on my legs, in hopes that I would not fly off the seat. With this experience my mood transformed from being happy and excited to a terrifying life threatening situation. This shows that transformation obviously creates fear. This can be seen in the following 3 stories as well. “The Raven”, “House Taken Over” and “Where is Here” use mood transformation…

Six years later, but time still hadn’t changed my opinion. I looked at the ride, the unforgiving sun glinting on the cold steel. An icy shiver ran down my spine, my palms getting clammier by the minute. I glanced at my friend, jealous of her indifference. Hanging onto the railing, I silently cursed myself for being so afraid. So weak. This wasn’t about riding a roller coaster that scared me out of my wits anymore; it was about proving that I could conquer my fears. My pride wouldn’t let me have it any other way. From the moment that I agreed to go on the ride, I knew that I would have to follow through with my decision. I couldn’t be that little girl who was too frightened to have fun anymore. I didn’t want to be the one left on the bench while her friends ran off to enjoy themselves. The only way to change that would be to prove everyone wrong. To prove myself…

Another experience I had was when I was 9. I was tall enough to ride almost all the rides at Cedar Point and I was so excited to ride them. We had ridden all the rides we were allowed to ride until we reached the last one. I was so scared to do it because it was so tall. My parents forced me to go on it and I tried everything to convince them that I didn’t want to go. They made me go anyway. We got up and I screamed the whole way down. My fear was very stupid and now I love that roller coaster!…

As a young girl, I experienced what at the time I thought was the end of the world. Yes, I was a little bit of a drama queen. At the age of eleven, and on my way to a ballet recital a woman who was careless pulled under an awning in a non-parking zone in front of The Girls Club. I was running to catch up with my group. I looked left and right and proceeded to walk under the awing to the parking lot across from the building. From the corner of my eye’s I saw a white car pull up in front of me very fast. The momentum of the car pulling up that close almost made me roller over the hood. I put both my hands on the car, and pushed my self away. Stepping back on my right foot, my left foot caught under the tire. I screamed in pain, and yelled at the women to move her car.…

We waited anyways. An hour went by and it’s almost our turn to go on the ride. Then right before we were about to get on the ride some girl came by us and was telling us about the drop. She said, “everybody agrees that it’s the best ride here.” She then described the ride to us and we thought it sounded like a fun ride. The girl then left and went with her friends to the other line she was in. We got onto the ride, felt wind blowing in our hair, hands were flying up we were having so much fun. The ride then stopped and we got off of it. The same girl that was telling us about the ride was standing there waiting for us. She decided to go on the ride with us as a group. We walked over to the Drop and the line was empty. We gave the man our tickets and we got on. The man then said “get onto the ride at your own risk.” I began to look around nervously, I was scared but I wasn’t going to back out. I thought to myself “how bad could it actually be brehia?” I knew he was just trying to scare us but was also wondering why the line was empty when there were a few hundred people there. We got on to the ride and we started going up slowly, felt like we were never going to reach the top. We got 100 ft in the air and all of the sudden I felt it shake and rattle, we tilted to the right side. The ride was holding on by a few strings. I was so scared panicking, screaming for help, praying to god that we were all going to be safe. I knew I wasn’t going to live I just knew it. Wishing I could tell my family I love them, hoping for the worst. Knew there was nothing I could do, it was over…

Snowboarding was a little scary but I was very scared of the ski lift I don't really know why but i was very scared to get off of it. Later that day i did not know that my fear of ski lifts was about to get a way lot worse. I was riding on the ski lift when all of the sudden I noticed my hair was stuck. The lift was almost finished by the time I had noticed which gave me no time to get it unstuck from the chair. The ride had come to a stop when the people operating the ride noticed I could not get off. But by the time they had noticed it was too late…

It was about 10:00 and it was time for our free period when we were allowed to go down the slides, the diving boards, or just swim on our own. Three of my buddies said they were going to go off the high dive, I was too shy to speak up about being afraid. I knew it was too little too late now I had to face my fears and just jump. We got in line, and it was as if I was in a trans just staring at everyone climb up the ladder and without hesitation jump and plunge into the icy water. Before I knew it I was on deck and I could feel stomach churning a little bit, as if on cue I heard the splash of Sam and knew it was my turn. I grabbed the metal bars and slowly made my way to the top, I felt like I was a mile off the…
