Similarities or Revised? It’s crazy how an actual person’s life can be embodied in a character from a book and still not be called a biography! Up until now people still believe that Harper Lee’s book “To Kill A Mockingbird” had everything to do with her life as a young child. Especially when it comes to the character Scout finch. There are so many similar events and childhood life experiences that show through Scout when it comes to Harper Lee in the Book “To Kill a Mockingbird”. As a young girl Lee was a tomboy. She was rowdy and she always fought especially for what she believed in. This reminds us of young Scout she always dressed boyish and even once fought a boy because he was talking bad about her father. Both were very close to their brothers. Both loved to read a lot as well. That’s why Harper pursued a writing career .They both grew up in Alabama. They both also had best friends who made them realize a lot of things in life. Although they were both so young they seem to been have going through a depressing stage in life. They were all so pressured to become something that THEY didn’t want. Harpers father wanted her to be a lawyer just like him. Scout was having difficulties when it came to her family understanding her. But at the same time she didn’t listen to anyone who always talked about how bad she was. Her father was the only person who seems to have understood her and what she was coping with at the time. With Lee it took her sometime to go her separate way and do what she wanted. People criticized her and always doubted her but she never gave up. Both lived through an era of prejudice times. Coloreds where treated with such hate and discrimination. Harper’s father was a lawyer at the time a titled lawyer. He defended to men who were African Americans accused of killing a man in a grocery store. Which is similar to Scout’s father was a lawyer as well. In a similar event he also defended a man of color but for a different accusation of
