As Thompson states, “Every new tool shapes the way we think as well as what we think about” (Thompson 348). For this reason, technology shapes the way we perceive and consume goods. As we perceive them in new ways, they could, in turn, can be shifted towards superior craftsmanship. Thompson further exemplifies this stating, “Our digital tools can also leave us smarter even when we’re not actively using them” (Thompson 360). This inherent intellect gained by technology can be implied as something that could drive the consumer to a superior product. This could result in a rise of craftsmanship.
