Facility requirements: room/outdoor space supplies required none
Program objectives: to learn the names of other persons in a group through associating the person’s first name with a word that also begins with the same letter as the first name and to know more of his/her observable personality from other people’s point of view.
Steps:
1. Have participants sit in a circle
2. Have each person think of a word that might say something about their personality, preferably adjectives- this word has to begin with the same letter as their first name
3. To begin, the first person might say my I am easygoing Elizabeth
4. Then the next person introduces themselves in a similar manner and then reintroduces all previously introduced people in the same manner until everyone has been introduced
Example:
person 1 – I am easygoing Elizabeth
Person 2 – I am kind Kristian, she it easygoing Elizabeth
Person 3 – I am vocal Vic, he is kind Kristian and she is easygoing Elizabeth
5. If the person failed to introduce or name someone in the group, he/she will be placed in the middle and will explain why he/she chose that adjective. After that, the other participants will give other adjectives or description that is suitable for that person and will also explain why they chose that. When everyone who is interested in sharing is finished, it will start again at step 3.
