Politics plays a huge role in everyone’s lives and is always a topic of discussion in today’s society. Peoples political views differ from one side of the spectrum to the other and there is really no right or wrong view, it is all personal opinion. Even the term politics has multiple definitions out there that are accepted by some and rejected by others. Dyck defines politics as “The activity in which conflicting interests struggle for advantage or dominance in the making and execution of public policies.” (Dyck, Rand, 2012). Some people believe this is a proper definition of politics while others disagree and believe other definitions are more appropriate. This paper will illustrate examples that support Dyck’s definition and how it can be…

The Importance of politics in our everyday life can’t be measured by a literal scale but it happens to be needing a thorough analysis to discuss. Though we can say that politics is important in our lives because it somehow affects our society balance. As society changes because of politics, people consider and reconsider how to deal with their own judgement in everyday scale due to consequences given by the politicians that commands their city or municipality. It is an unfortunate common view that politics is unrelated to everyday life. It is related to politicians, legal and official business that the average person knows nothing about, and should not bother with. It’s an unfortunate view because politics is about life. Governments make decisions that affect our everyday life. We all know this, of course. But to what extent do we actually practice it? For a nation to move forward, its people must take their future into their own hands. A nation is a people, an entity, a concept; all of which are about more than a ‘country’ as defined politically, but about us and our lives. To be a patriot is to love yourself and where you came from. And to be politically conscious is to care about your life. When we see politics as something distant, we forget how personal it really is.…

According to Aristotle a human being is political animal he is not human but beast or God if he could live outside the state (state = small city state; example: Athens) this is said so for during that time the population is not that big compare to the present and with this it is not hard for them to participate in politics. During that time almost everything was political. Let’s now consider the present time where we are living in the Nation- States with bigger population. Can we still say that politics affects us? We may say that politics does not affect us or we can avoid it. At the time we reach legal age we may choose to vote or not. But then from the time of our birth till our death politics affect us. We say that POLITICS affects us but then What is politics? Many philosophers and political scientist try to give their own version of defining politics. For Michael Oakeshott politics is the affairs of the state, for David Easton it is the authoritative allocation of values in society. For some philosopher such as Dahl, Crick etc. it is different but all of them believed that politics is a Relational Activity. From our previous professor we define politics as a social activity that deals with scarcity and diversity that leads to conflict which is the heart of politics.
