The objective of this project is to help train DC Construction staff with their BRIX problems by planning how to operate the new system. The company will provide 20 laptops for this training session. When DC Construction changes their BRIX system, they will also change their financial system. Currently all locations have trouble with the financial and accounting system. The sites do not have a standard system, which may have contributed to the problem. The new STIX system will allow each site to have a high of compatibility through a standardized operating system. The company will implement the new system in six months, and will be operational, company wide, by August 30 next year. A development team will come up with a project plan to update DC Construction’s BRIX system. Management will be notified of any resources they may need to accomplish this task.…
Peter Skrzynecki is of Polish/Ukrainian background and was born in 1945, in Germany, shortly before the end of World War II. He emigrated to Australia in 1949 with his parents. Most of Skrzynecki’s poems are about his life and the change that he has experienced from moving to a different country. In 1951 the family moved to Sydney, to the working-class suburb of Regents Park, where a home had been purchased at 10 Mary Street. The poem “10 Mary Street” represents change as it shows the comparison between Skrzynecki’s life in Poland and his new life in Sydney and how he and his family have had to adapted to their new way of life and how the physical change of moving countries has changed them emotionally. Change is present in this poem as the poet uses the simile “Shut the house; like a well-oiled lock” to appreciate the order of daily ritual when departing in the morning. It indicates that the house is secure and protects the family. The simile “like adopted children” shows that the garden is not like any other garden to them.…

An oligopoly is a market form in which a market or industry is dominated by a small number of sellers (oligopolists). Oligopolies can result from various forms of collusion which reduce competition and lead to higher costs for consumers. [1] Alternatively, oligopolies can see fierce competition because competitors can realize large gains and losses at each other's expense. In such oligopolies, outcomes for consumers can often be favorable.…
In the essay “The Uncommon Life of Common Objects” by Akiko Busch she states that objects tell stories more eloquently than people. She gives the example of FBI agents taking an assortment of physical objects from the Staten Island landfill where debris still resides from what used to be the World Trade Center. These FBI agents were at the landfill for months pouring over rubble in order to collect more information as to the happenings of the towers collapse. And during this time they acquired small mementos such as a globe, a paperweight, pieces of metal and concrete, and an American flag. When this incident became public knowledge families of the victims of 9/11 were outraged by this horrific act. These FBI agents were accused at best of removing evidence from a crime scene and at worse grave robbing. The reason why these people felt so strongly about the agents taking these invaluable objects was because they were the last things that their loved ones either saw or touched so it wouldn’t be right for someone who didn’t even know them to have a piece of something that was not rightfully theirs. This argument can be said for Joel Sternfeld’s photograph of Warren Ave which uses it objects to clearly express its message unlike Pepon Osorio’s Badge of Honor.…

I believe in the essay by Freeman Hrabowski the one sentence that summarizes the entire essay would the statement was, “ College graduates are much more likely to be employed than those with only a high school diploma and substantially higher salaries”(260). That statement cover all the details explaining the essay because in order to be successful you must get the proper education. The appropriate education will educate you on your career to understand the accurate way to complete your job’s task.…
We can see here that Duffy has described how Havisham is getting old and her veins on her hands are standing out, Duffy describes these veins as “Ropes”. This quote is also describing a feeling “I could strangle with.” Here, Havisham wants to cause pain and damage to the man who hurt her, however, She could also be describing how the veins are so thick, they could be strong enough to strangle somebody. We can clearly see evidence of Miss Havisham having hatred feelings here, she is somehow showing herself how she is getting so old but the wedding day still remains clear in her memory.…

The story begins with a conversation between Lata and Anuj about whether they should go out for dinner or not which also gives an impression of their relationship. Then Lata observes the environment outside which introduces the surroundings. She continues telling about situations from her past and about her present location between her humble conversations with Anuj. They decide to go out and watch a movie. When they arrive to the leisure center, Lata observes the many different families and while she waits for Anuj to buy the tickets, a man notices her significantly. She speculates about the words “are you alright?” They watch a movie which plot takes place in Lata’s home city, and therefore she is very dedicated to the movie. The story ends with Lata and Anuj coming out of the theatre, walking to the car, where Lata burst into tears, and confirming the real meaning of the words “all right”, when Anuj asks her “if she is alright”.…
Lata often finds herself daydreaming about the life in India since she misses it so much. She hasn’t really realized that she has left India for good. She is still living there in her head, but Anuj seems to wake her up. He interrupts her when she tells about India and her old life. Cardiff is her new home and he tries to make it clear for her, but the more he tries the harder it gets for her to accept. She feels very alone because she doesn’t know anyone else than Anuj, who is almost a stranger to her as well. In India she knew all of her neighbours and she was a fun and outgoing girl, who loved to tell jokes. Now she can be described as the weather is described in the story; The sky loomed large and grey over the chimney tops and television aerials. Lata missed the drama of colours played out in the sky. She observed it had been the same dull grey throughout the day. This quote performs like a metaphor that shows Lata’s dissatisfaction about her new existents. She still wonders how her father could say that life in Wales would be better for her. The life she had…
