Teaching has always been regarded as the noblest profession. With teachers, professions become professions. Teachers are considered the brains behind the people who became experts or achieved a great deal. Teachers are the light of every person's brain, the heart of a single soul, the pillars of those who do not have guts, the voices that keep on saying, "Go on... you can do it ".
Once a year, on the 5th day of October the World Teachers' Day is celebrated. The day which is held annually, commemorates teachers' organizations worldwide. Its aims are to mobilize support for teachers and to ensure that the needs of future generations will be continue to be met by teachers.
The Santiago City National High School-Sagana Extension headed by the PTA Officers and SSG Officers conducted a program with a theme " My Teacher, My Hero ". On the first day of the celebration, October 2, 2014 the teachers were pampering and relaxing themselves by having their foot spa, manicure/pedicure, and massage while the little teachers were having their classes on their respective classrooms. They also have their free lunch in the school treated by the PTA Officers.
On the 2nd day of the celebration, the SSG Officers conducted a simple but meaningful tribute to the teachers. It started by marching all the teachers with selected students as their escorts/muses. Afterwards, each class showed a simple presentation to entertain their advisers and teachers. They also gave awards to the teachers. Most Brilliant was given to Ma’am Julie P. Tubang, Most Influential was given to Ma’am Joanna D. Balayan, Most Amiable was given to Ma’am Geraldine A. Peralta, Most Vigorous was given to Ma’am Mareta G.
