Teachers Who Have Influenced Me Essay Example
All of my teachers have had an impact on me one way or another, but the most significant teachers for me were Mr. Nicu Carturescu, English; Mr. Stanescu Marcel Volleyball; and Mrs. Lori Fernandez, English as a Second Language (ESL) Mr. Nicu Carturescu was a great teacher. He was my English teacher in Romania. First, I appreciated his skills in English. He had studied in the United Kingdom and spoke very fluently. I also considered him a very prepared teacher. He always had our lessons planned before class. Second, he was a good explainer. He always gave us his best for us to improve our knowledge in English. He liked to correct us when we made mistakes in grammar and pronunciation. He was a patient teacher and did not scream at the students when someone didn’t understand something. In addition, he was good listener. He knew how to listen to us and engage in conversations. He encouraged us to engage in conversation with him as well. He was tuned in when a student had difficulty understanding subject material or when a student had having personal issues. He knew when to step in and when to back off. He was a great teacher because he had knowledge, he was a good explainer, he had patience and he was a good listener. Mr. Stanescu Marcel, my volleyball coach, had a major influence on my life. To start he recruited me to the team and introduced me to the game. He saw that volleyball was something that I was good at and found potential in me. Without him I would have never played volleyball. In addition, he encouraged my parents to make sure that I stayed involved in the sport, as it was something he knew I could go far with. Because of him I went on to play volleyball for many years. While playing for his team I became a top player and we won many championships. Another thing I liked about him was that he understood his students better than most people. He understood where his students came from, who we were, and he knew the best avenue to take us to who we would

There are different people in the world who have impacted students’ life. In my 9 years of school, there has been one teacher that I really loved and she really impacted on my life by the way she handled things and how she lived her life. Her name was Mrs. Hollenbaugh. She impacted my life because she would always encourage us to stick to our dreams and also because she would take responsibility unlike some people and own up to her mistakes. But she would learn from that mistake and become a better person by not doing that mistake again.…

A person who made an enormous impact on my life was my eighth grade math teacher. I'd had failed my seventh grade TAKS test and had to take a second math class for the year. I was extremely furious and disappointed that I had to take yet another math. I was and still am terrible at math, which just made the situation even worse. Within the first week, I kept failing my assignments, which was making my grade plummet. I came to my regular math teacher for help for my assignments to raise my grades. However, the way the teacher was explaining the math made absolutely no sense to me in any way. Fortunately, when I came to my TAKS math teacher for tutoring, the way he explained to me actually made things much more simpler in my work. Things started…

My teachers are a vital component of my education. Without them, there is no reason to attend Xavier. In Mr. Cosden's honors English II class, I have learned so much already! His class is one of the most challenging that I have taken. His kindness, brilliant mind, and curiosity is an inspiration to me. As I continue to learn from him this year, I hope to be just as smart as him someday. My Chinese teacher, Ms. Chen (aka Lao Shi) is such a sweet, patient, and caring teacher. Her class is the reason why I…

As you can see, yes I have a lasting impact from my second grade teacher. My number one rule in my classroom would be to allow washroom breaks anytime when a child feel the need to go. My lasting impact from my kindergarten teacher that has influence me with my teaching skills would be to provide extra help to all my students that might be struggle with their development needs. I would always take out extra time to work with my student’s and I will work at their pace. As well as not put too much on them when I see that they are having difficulties.…

My middle school volleyball coach has been the most influential person in my life. In 6th grade I had never picked up a volleyball until the day of tryouts. Miraculously I made the team. Coach Brittany helped to build up my confidence and helped to greatly build up my skills. I made the team again in seventh grade. This year turned out to be a bit harder. I was suppose to play middle front, which I loved dearly, but I didn't understand the transitions off the net, so she got mad at me in front of everyone and switched my position. It was one of the most embarrassing and humbling experiences of my life. That year I learned to love a position that I originally hated and Coach Brittany said to me, " When you're not the best, if you work hard,…

The teacher that had the most impact on me was Mark Whitney. Before I came to MiraCosta college, I was in Japanese high school which I hated it. I saw some of the teachers are very unhelpful and passionless, and they did not care about me since my score was always the low group in the entire student of the same grade. They pretended to care about my, but every time I knew it was a lie. Therefore, I did not expect that much about the professors when I first came here. However, when I started taking his class the way I think changed a lot. First of all, he was passionate about teaching, which surprised me. Now, after taking so many Child Development classes I know most of the professors are very passionate and helpful for me, but at that time,…

Looking back on my education, there are plenty of teachers that I felt were effective in getting me to learn material, but I will mention just two. Teacher A was my 8th grade and 10th grade math teacher. He didn’t necessarily make math easier in any way, but he made math much more fun because you looked forward to going to his class. Teacher A always used simple jokes, often requiring a very dry humor, which made me constantly pay attention in class so I could catch his different jokes. He also had the ability to demand respect in his class without ever really enforcing anything. He was simply such an amazing teacher that everyone respected his class and no one ever acted up. Teacher B, my 8th grade science teacher, also had a big impact on my education for the better. I enjoyed going to her classes because she was able to connect with me and a few of my friends on more of a personal level. She took an interest in our lives and made sure we were all on the path toward better futures. She, unlike Teacher A, demanded respect in her classroom in more of an authoritative way. Her students knew that if they acted up, she would not skip a beat to send them to the office, resulting in very few problems.…

A person who has had a significant influence on me in my life would have to be my former foster mother, Miss Barbara Pratt. Ms. Pratt was a foster mother to many children before myself and she had had wonderful success with most of them. I had been in an extremely abusive relatives home before I had been placed in Ms. Pratt’s home. When it was discovered that I was in an abusive home I was first placed in a group home in Cincinnati. Social Services worked very hard to find me a home that would help me adjust to a ‘normal’ life as quickly and easily as possible. They found the home my older sister had been placed in, they contacted Ms. Pratt and I was placed in her care.…

    Teacher of Year Essay

First I want to tell you with whom I honor, with whom I have, learned to respect, and who deserve the outmost admirations. The teachers I am talking about work hard to do a great job, because, above all, it is a kind of responsibility so to speak towards their students and relevantly toward themselves. I have had several teachers in my years as a student both in the primary and secondary schools among which there were only few whom I felt to fit the description above, maybe most of them were good in their own way, but one cannot be sufficient in all ways or I may also have misunderstood them. However, the teacher that I chose as deserving of the “My Favorite Teacher” earned this title due to the care she showed to each of her students through her teaching, personality, and the all the fun had in her class is Ms. Fleming my writing teacher. Ms. Fleming is an open minded, caring person who seemed to love what she is doing. Ms. Fleming is more than a teacher to me; she is a person you could go to with a problem and she would try and help you find the answer. She would help you, but expected you to put the work into finding out for yourself how to do something. She always came across as someone who cared about every student as if they were her “children”. Ms. Fleming is like a book that gives you the right information that would help you on getting a six on the FCAT writing. About 95% of her student’s agree that Ms. Fleming spent each day preparing us for the FCAT writing in thirteen days. The first time I walked into the classroom I notice a flaming red headed teacher sitting down. I thought that she would be a boring, and mean teacher giving her student’s a lot of homework and essays to write. Every word that comes out of her mouth sounds like music to my brain. When it comes to teaching she doesn’t let out a lot of stress, most of the stress comes from whether or not her student’s would receive a four or higher on the FCAT writing. When I’m in class Ms. Fleming have…

In high school I had a coach, not the best one someone could ask for, he always tried to push me to quit. I wanted to quit so many times throughout my 4 years. One experience where he yelled at me in front of the crowd at an away game is the most memorable because it made me walk out of the gym. It was a different thing at every game or practice. Some people might think this is a bad experience, and it was. Looking back at it and seeing where I came from to where I am now it taught me to better myself. It taught me to be persistent and never to back down from something you love to do. No matter if it were/was school, sports, or a summer job I wanted. It taught me to stick with whatever I want to do and push through even in the hardest time.…
