The Hunger Games Essay In the astounding novel “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins, there are quite a few characters that connect to my personality, but one caught my eye. Katniss Everdeen ( Kat ) is a remarkable character whom is truly describing me. She is brave, caring, and self - censored due to the inconceivable things that she does for her and her family. I on the other side relates to her in that way because I’m also courageous and will do anything for my astonishing family. Katniss is also very clever and resourceful because of the things she remembers her dad taught her. I’m very intelligent , adroit , and can keep in mind things that anyone has taught me , including that I take very smart and good decisions similar to Katniss. Katniss is an amazing hunter trained by her father who died in a mining explosion. She hunts in every morning so that her family can at least eat something. Sometimes Katniss has to kill a bit more so she can trade the meat for bread. I am surprisingly good at something similar. Do you want to know what? I’m wonderful at hunting down birds and then killing them with a bow and arrow and then bringing them home so we can have them for dinner! Katniss is very courageous in the book because she does many things that are really outgoing. To start when her smaller sister Prim got selected to go in the Hunger Games on the first year she was in the raffle, Kat stepped as a volunteer so that her sister wouldn’t go in. Like I said before she is very brave because she would do anything so that her family would be safe like me. The decisions that Katniss makes are very similar to the ones I would’ve made if I was her

    Katniss confirms our understanding of a typical hero with her noble personality attributes and heroic actions. She exhibits moments of tolerance, endurance, selflessness and compassion; all of which are what makes up our overall perception of an archetypal hero. We see Katniss display these heroic attributes on reaping day, when Katniss's little sister Prim is chosen to be a tribute for District 12. In a selfless act of bravery, Katniss volunteers to take hr sisters place, hence saving her from certain death. In this one great deed, Katniss attains the ultimate 'heights of self-sacrifice reached by the most noble of heroes,' catapulting her to the realms of the true archetypal heroes; a title which she upholds for most of the duration of 'The Hunger Games.' In another instance, Katniss demonstrates saint-like levels of tolerance and kindness when she tends to Peeta whilst he is injured and unable to walk. He slows her down; he's a total burden yet Katniss nurses him back from the brink of death, risking her own life as she does it. Now in the Catching Fire book, “A mockingjay is a creature the Capitol never intended to exist.
