Random-access-memory (RAM) is a very important specification of the computer. By ensuring you have enough RAM, the faster your system processes, you can store more data, and allow more programs to run at the same time. As the OS allows the different task to complete for the processor, the RAM is used as temp storage, when the processor no longer needs them the OS clears it. Virtual memory is the hard drive space borrowed to use if there isn’t enough…

    Ender's Game Theme

“I've got a pretty good idea what children are, and we're not children. Children can lose sometimes, and nobody cares. Children aren't in armies, they aren't commanders, they don't rule over forty other kids, it's more than anybody can take and not get crazy" (Card, 8.134). This shows the immense pressure put on children to behave more like adults throughout Ender’s Game. Ender’s Game has an action pact plot that focuses on the main character, Ender, maturing into a commander to save the human race. The story starts out with Ender being a young boy who is very intelligent in a school with regular kids. He is being monitored by the International Fleet so that they can decide whether he will make it into battle school. After many stressful encounters…

    The Last Night of Ballyhoo

The Last Night of Ballyhoo is a perfect example of the inner workings of a prejudice person. There are two psychological elements displayed here that are more related than most people realize. The prejudice theme is obvious throughout the play. But notice that in every display of bigotry, there is an underlying sentiment of personal inadequacy. Ballyhoo proves that racial and other forms of prejudice are a concoction created and driven by society. Defensive projection is defined as the process of perceiving one’s undesirable qualities in others (Govorun, Fuegen and Payne par. 1). Most people are not legitimately intolerant of other ethnicities (solely based on ethnicity). I believe that prejudice behavior is often projected from feelings of one’s own shortcoming and feelings that others have haughtily predetermined one’s own character. The feelings of inadequacy cause the person to swell up with pride and project their feelings onto someone different from themselves. There is only one remedy for this disease, and that is love.…

In life humans face various emotional grief, and this is problematic when these personal matters affect their everyday work ethics. In the book Then We Came To The End by Joshua Ferris, he hints how individuals involved in a work environment within the office, constantly are faced with dilemmas, anxiety, and endless boredom. In the novel, the author is describing how some characters go through specific transitions throughout the book. Ferris is convincing the reader of the everyday pressure, disparity and insecurity that slowly influences some characters facing economic depression, and layoffs. The concentration camps, by making death itself anonymous (making it impossible to find out whether a prisoner is dead or alive), robbed death of its meaning as the end of a fulfilled life. In a sense they took away the individual’s own death, proving that henceforth nothing belonged to him and he belonged to no one. His death merely set a seal on the fact that he had never existed.…

Marriage has always been known as a sacred act between two loving people and it continues to be this way today. The reason to get married is not only to show the world your love for the other person, but also to pronounce your commitment to your partner. The ability to marry the person you love should not be withheld from anyone in these modern times; however we see that this is happening. Marriage has been around before Mesopotamia and has evolved to the interracial marriages we see all around us today. Yet there is always one group that has to be out casted especially in America, homosexuals. Homosexuals are prosecuted against not only because of religious reasons, but also because the majority of Americans are afraid of change. However we have to understand that under the constitution it was declared that every man is created equal, so every person should be treated equally. There is no difference between their love towards someone and a heterosexual’s love for someone, so why can’t they get married? I firmly believe in the right for everyone to get married, no matter their sexuality.…

    The Last Song

In my book The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks, Ronnie, a teenage girl and her brother, Jonah are sent to be with their dad for the summer. Ronnie and her dad haven't talked ever since her parent’s split, her dad left with out saying anything. From that point on, Ronnie had turned into a new girl. Here Nicholas Sparks tries to show the reader that Ronnie isn’t really who she thinks she is, and she doesn’t do anything her friends do. Ronnie turns into a girl that is "bad.” She has bad grades, they dropped juristically, she has a purple streak in her hair, and hangs out with the wrong type of people. To me, though Ronnie isn't really "bad;” she is just hiding herself from the rest of the world, with all her makeup and dark clothes. Ronnie isn't actually one of those kids who drink or smoke or do terrible things it’s just that, that’s the only way she can express herself.…
