museum is not that spacious, I liked the landscapes of the building that is simple and…
Visiting the Newark Museum was new to me; I have gone to the museum of art in New York, but I never really found any interest in art itself, until now. Because of this Art appreciation class, I was able to criticize some of the paintings hanging on the wall, and the way everything was set up. It was very interesting to see the quality of some of the art work that I passed by. The most wonderful collection of art that I found to be the most interesting one is the African collection.…
At the San Jose Museum of Art in northern California people from all over the Bay area can come and view hundred of beautiful artwork. The San Jose museum of Art is made up of seven galleries. At the entrance of the museum there is an arcade and the admissions booth. The first floor has one very large gallery, which is called the North gallery. On the first floor you will find the Education center, restrooms, the museums store and the museum café. Also you will find a smaller room that consists of a variety of sculptures. Visitors have the option of taking the stairs or the elevator to the second floor, where you will find five smaller galleries. Outside of the museum is a very large courtyard with palm trees. After talking to one of the representative I found out you can rent the museum and the courtyard for events such as weddings, business parties or any sort of special event.…
Museums bring history and culture to life by allowing individuals to gain unique hands on experience that is different from learning from textbooks or television. One can never know the reality behind certain artifacts and art until they see it for themselves. The perception of viewing a multitude of replicas and pictures such as the Mona Lisa can be dramatically different from witnessing the painting up close. The interactive experience allows one to engage and immerse ourselves back into time to learn about the truth of different cultures and traditions. The intent of museums is not purely to enthrall historians and scholars, but to create an environment which is welcoming to all individuals. While historians argue that museums…
I personally took a tour through the Hall of Fame to see what it consists of. I was amazed by the things I saw because they were historians that I have never heard of. I saw a collection of bronze faces of both genders, female and male. Under their bronze faces you will see their name follow the year they were born, the year they died and a quote. The quotes under their name represented statements they wrote as a message base on their belief. This place looks like a real museum a little different because is at open air. Usually museums are built to keep special work of arts, specimen of scientist or other objects of permanent value. In this case this museum shows over 98 great American sculptures for us to honor for the things they have done for us.…
Museums have long served a purpose as cultural staples. For every museum, big and small, careful consideration is used in selecting its contents. When securing new items for a museum, it is most important to consider public appeal, educational value, and cost-effectiveness.…
The SFCC student exhibit was my favorite. The painting in this exhibit just had me so amazed. I even told my wife if I had the money I would purchase multiple works of art from that exhibit. The colors and blending were really nice and attracted me to them. The paintings were calming to and the ceramics and sculptures were see detailed which got your attention.…
For such a small location they utilize the area very well, on the main floor, they have a library on one end and an auditorium on the other end. Located upstairs they have one main room which holds most of the art. To fully utilize the location, they…
In my opinion, I really liked and enjoyed this painting for the fact that it was simple and portrayed the man perfectly. It was also the painting that caught my eye right as I saw it in the museum out of all the other…
Museum it still had lots of wonderful art displays to share from various artists many of them…
Although this was a very intriguing museum, there were so many different displays and exhibits, it was hard to see everything. I personally didn’t like it as much because I was confused as to how everything in the Newseum was connected together. There were so many features built into the Lincoln Memorial which made it unique, such as the 36 columns representing the 36 states in the Union at the time of Lincoln's death. On the other hand, the Newseum was packed with many different segments of information on various topics. I prefered the memorials over the museums because they are more concise and focused on one person or an event rather than museums, which I think had an overwhelming amount of…
Within the museum you’re exposed to over 30,000 artifacts and several exhibitions that were primarily set out for individual pieces of African American history. It made me feel like I was taking a closer encounter with history and the importance of the African American culture and life. Every exhibition had its own feel to it, and its own relevance, with each display and individual storyline, made it all the more very special. I think with every exhibition, the intention was to make people feel like they were truly once a part of that time and age. Although, it’s difficult to imagine any more of what lies in the roots of African American history and life, I…
After going to this the Rechnitz Hall my insight on art has changed in many ways. I now realize art is not what people do just to kill time when bored, but actually a way of passing along thoughts and beliefs without words. Art can really sum up many events or a certain era in just one little piece which seems much more sufficient than writing a book or journal of some sort. I am really glad we took this visit to Rechnitz Hall, and I am sure that it will not be my last time going there.…
During a breezy Sunday afternoon, I decided to visit the Timken Museum of Art located in Balboa Park. I chose the Timken specifically after reading about it online, and knowing that it had a variety of different paintings ranging from European paintings to American and Russian paintings.…
The strengths in the exhibit were the realistic ideas. These were some of the earliest photographs in history they weren’t just paintings or portrayal of the good life in these times. You always read about history and what happened in what times, but these photos in this exhibit showed it firsthand. A lot of the photos were open for interpretation.…
