The years 1750 to 1820 were characterized by the Seven Years’ War, the American and French Revolutions, and the Napoleonic Wars. These political events coupled with the drastic social change proven by the shift of power from the aristocracy and church to the middle class, as well as the increase in social mobility. Every accepted idea was being put into question and reevaluated.
4. Write a paragraph that includes the characteristics of music in the Classical Period music. (4 points)
Classical Period music was characterized by variety and contrast of mood, which means that a piece will fluctuate in theme as well as within a single theme. This change may occur steadily or abruptly, but the classical composer is always in control. Variety is achieved through a flexible rhythm, including unexpected pauses, syncopations, and a frequent movement from long to short notes. Classical music has a usually homophonic texture; however, it can easily shift textures, whether it is smooth or sudden. Classical melodies are tuneful and easy to remember. Their themes tend to have a folk or popular flavor, whether borrowed or original. Their structure is usually two phrases of equal length, making the melody balanced and symmetrical. The second phrase begins like first, but ends conclusively. Rather than shifting dynamics abruptly, composers made use of crescendo and decrescendo. The piano replaced the harpsichord in order to accomplish the gradual dynamic change; a pianist could play loudly or softly by

What type of install is the cable going into? Is everything in a fixed position? If you have an install where items are moved around without being disconnected, using highly flexible cable is necessary. Cables in these scenarios need to be flexible to meet those demands of mobility, and also for the life of the wire so that it does not crack, break, fray or short. We had a job at a university where we moved flat panels on a track system to create different screen sizes, and for that we had to make sure the cable would meet the demand.…

A private network schema is a viable choice for internal IP addressing. Each office can have its own range to avoid conflicts with other locations if subnetted correctly. Assuming that all nodes and servers have only one interface, you should only need one public address per outward interface. In the diagram provided, you would only need one public IP address for the router connection to the Internet. Everything else can be addressed privately with the correct subnetting.…

When the activity was first assigned each member of the group was assigned a different part of the assignment. For, my part in the assignment I was assigned to complete the evaluation tool. The other three members were assigned one of the other three parts left in the activity. When, it came to deciding the activity we each came up with an idea, but then we eventually decided that we would do softball. After that, during the process there were group meetings held to figure the best way for the activity to be run, and how each member was doing with their part of the assignment. I was a little confused with the fact that I wasn’t assigned more work to do. In my opinion, I felt that I could’ve done more than just the evaluation tool I wanted to contribute more to the group. Beyond that, it confused me that during the activity, it took us a while to decide to let each batter have a runner with and…

In the 18th century, only 8% of the French population were part of the bourgeoisie, in which people are better off economically, are educated, are talented, and well informed. Unfortunately, Étienne and Marguerite Ouellette’s family were part of the social class that formed the majority of the population, the peasants. Both lovers were born in Alsace, northern France during the second half of the 18th century. Their lives were greatly influenced by major political ideas and revolutions such as the Enlightenment, which culminated with The French Revolution. Did these events improve their lives? Not necessarily. Yet, Élisabeth, their only daughter, managed to live the life of a…

    Baroque Music: The History

Baroque music describes an era and a set of styles of European classical music which were in widespread use between approximately 1600 and 1750.[1] This era is said to begin in music after the Renaissance and was followed by the Classical music era. The original meaning of "baroque" is "irregular pearl", a strikingly fitting characterization of the architecture of this period; later, the name came to be applied also to its music. Baroque music forms a major portion of the classical music canon, being widely studied, performed, and listened to. It is associated with composers such as Claudio Monteverdi, Antonio Vivaldi, George Frideric Handel, and Johann Sebastian Bach. The baroque period saw the development of diatonic tonality. During the period composers and performers used more elaborate musical ornamentation; made changes in musical notation, and developed new instrumental playing techniques. Baroque music expanded the size, range and complexity of instrumental performance, and also established opera as a musical genre. Many musical terms and concepts from this era are still in use today.…

    Exploring Music Analysis

Throughout the years of piano and cello practice, I never truly appreciated the musical style of the Romantic period. The dissonance created by contrasting melodies and key changes starkly contrasted the lyrical and cheerful melodies of the Baroque and Classical period. Often classical music as a genre sparks recognition of composers such as Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven – neglecting others like as Mendelssohn and Chopin. This semester, Exploring Music caused me to explore new methods of musical thought tied to the historical context of its day. In this way, I established a new appreciation for the Romantic period’s style and its less popular musicians.…

    Classical vs. Modern music

Classical and Modern music have many differences as well as similarities. In this paper, I compare classical and modern-day music through a means of artists, performances, and specific pieces. Although modern and classical music have different meanings, for example classical music back in the early 19th century was only played for the rich and royal and took some composers multiple months to compose, while modern music can be created in just hours with electronic sounds instead of musical instruments and listened to by anyone, compositions of each can share similar beats, rhythms, and melodies that connect them to each other.…

While much of the Classical era music is stereotyped for sounding the same, there is much variation within the style and music of that period. Although there are many different forms and variations of those forms, deviations in that respect are not as easily recognized to the casual listener. It takes some attention and focus to notice a formal variation. What the casual listener will recognize are deviations which grab attention of those who may have not been paying any attention before, or which defy the expectations of those who have been paying attention. The most effective techniques are deviations in rhythm, dynamic, and harmony.…
