April‚ Thank you for sharing your story. I’ll admit‚ I was hesitant to read it because I hate thinking about funerals. However‚ I wanted to give you some feedback‚ so here I am. 1. To make it seem more realistic‚ I would add dialogue. This ties into your question #3. I don’t think that all stories need tons of dialogue‚ but to me‚ it feels like I’m getting a lot of backstory before I ever see anything from the character’s point of view. Maybe add past of someone’s eulogy? I’ve been to one funeral

bread of salt. The similarity is physical: the bread is described as diminutive‚nut-brown and the size of my little fist‚ just as the narrator is still basically only a boy. Note how the image of the narrator is quite similar to that of bread baking‚ I could feel my body glow in the sun as though it had been instantly cast in bronze. The similarity is also metaphorical: just as bread needs to bake in the fire to rise and be ready‚ so too must the narrator undergo trials before he can be called a man

title Losing someone you love is a horrible experience in anyone’s life‚ especially if it is a parent. Losing both of your parents in a matter of four months is one of the worst things that can possibly happen. I was born in Arizona and lived in my hometown‚ Phoenix‚ until I was three years old. My dad went to jail so my mom‚ sister‚ two brothers and I moved to Chicago because that is where my mom’s side of the family lives. We lived there for four years until my dad got out of jail. My

Before reading this book if I saw someone like Auggie I would have definitely reacted differently. The character I think I would have reacted similar to would be Charlotte. In the book August says when he meets Charlotte “she gave me a quick wave‚ a smile‚ and said nice to meet you”. If I were to meet someone like Auggie I probably would have done something similar. Normally when meeting someone I would shake his or her hand but I would most likely be a little shy around someone like August. Charlotte

I have often been a fraidy cat about the simplest things. I remember back when I was a child and being frightened of leaving home to go to school — it was as if I feared that my family would not be there when I got back from school or that I wouldn’t know what to do in school. All my life I’ve had similar fears about many things — being able to do a good job and succeed at my work‚ worrying whether I’d grow up to become an independent individual who could stand on his own two feet. And‚ each time

Probably one of the most popular topics in science-fiction of all times has been the idea of time traveling. In literature and cinema this topic has been exploited uncountable times. We know and love such works as H.G. Wells’ “Time Machine”; H.P. Lovecraft’s “The Shadow Out of Time”; R. Bradbury’s “A Sound of Thunder”; S. King’s “The Langoliers”; as well as numerous films and TV shows: “Back to the Future”‚ “Butterfly Effect”‚ “Timecop.” These‚ as well as many others are dedicated mostly to one question:
