Milikan Oil Drop Experiment Objective To experimentally determine the quantum nature of charge by using the equipment especially designed for this experiment. Theory A spherical drop of oil‚ falling through a viscous medium like air‚ will quickly reach a constant velocity. When it reaches this equilibrium state‚ the viscous force is balanced by other forces acting on the drop‚ such as gravity‚ buoyant forces from the air‚ electrical forces‚ etc. In this experiment an electrical force of varying

The Spitfire units had a lower attrition rate and a higher victory-to-loss ratio than those flying Hurricanes.[9] After the Battle of Britain‚ the Spitfire became the backbone of RAF Fighter Command‚ and saw action in the European‚ Mediterranean‚ Pacific and the South-East Asian theatres. dropout is an individual who does not complete his or her education by earning a high school diploma. (Natrello 1986) Natrello explained this in his book " School Dropouts" that the average student who drops out does not return to finish his or her schooling. He went on to say that a person could drop out at any level of educational endeavor‚ however‚ for the sake of this discussion it will be on the high school level in particular. Natrello suggest that the average dropout has specific characteristics

For my egg drop project I used marshmallow fluff. I took a little of fluff out and put the egg in. Then I put some more fluff on top of it and compressed it in. When we got assigned the project the first thing I thought of was marshmallow fluff. I wanted something that would hold the egg so it wouldn’t move and break. I also taped the lid with duct tape so the lid wouldn’t fly off or break. The marshmallow fluff is super sticky and thick so I thought it would be perfect to hold the egg in place.

Luis Berrios 3/7/12 Physics Honors B Block Egg Drop Project For this project‚ I made a capsule for an egg that is to be dropped from about twenty feet. This capsule that I made was not what I was thinking at first but when I started to build it‚ I saw that this capsule would hold better than the one that I was thinking which was a triangular capsule with the egg in the middle but I saw later one that the egg would break if it hit one of the flat sides. The capsule is a cube that is made out

The dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima (August 6th 1945) and Nagasaki (August 9th 1945) remains among the most controversial events in modern history. At the time‚ the dropping of the atomic bombs was both strategically and morally justified‚ yet today it is a hotly debated topic‚ thought to be excessive or unnecessary. However‚ the dropping of the atomic bombs‚ while an atrocious act‚ was in fact the lesser of two evils. The alternative was to prolong one of the bloodiest conflicts in global

No two journeys are alike‚ because the knowledge and experiences gained differ for each person. One of the texts I have chosen to study is the song Drops of Jupiter written my Pat Nonhuman‚ performed by Train. The song is about a dream that the writer had about his mother who had recently passed. The line ’She’s back in the atmosphere’ was the first line written‚ and led to him writing the song as an extended metaphor of his mothers journey in the afterlife‚ and the return of her spirit to him

Persuasive Paper Raising the Drop Out Age Students at the age of 16 are too young to make life changing decisions about their education. In the United States almost every state complies with the age limit of 16 for a student to be able to decide as to whether they would want to continue their education. The age requirement to be able to make this decision should be raised to 18 because education is important‚ 16 is not a mature age to make such a decision‚ and it keeps students from giving up
