Alcestis In ancient Greece there were separate gender roles. Women were expected to act a certain way. They had many limitations in their life. How they were supposed to act was regulated by Greek men. Euripides creates a tragedy that has a positive tone through its main character Alcestis. Alcestis is shown as a perfect submissive wife capable of making tremendous personal sacrifices. She is seen as a positive force‚ more so than real Greek women were. Euripides was a play writer in ancient Greece.

The Ancient Worldview Frequently authors use literary devices such as the plot‚ theme‚ characters‚ and imagery‚ in their work to express their personal worldview. Sometimes this is a conscious effort and other times they do it accidentally‚ since it is very natural to be influenced by social‚ cultural‚ or historical factors that occur throughout one’s life. Worldview plays an even bigger part in literature that was created in Ancient history‚ because we must often rely on the translation of a story

Pontius Pilate In this paper I will be making the case that Pontius Pilates crucifying of Jesus was not only a political move but also an act to dominate the generally not so compliant Jewish populace of Judea. The History of Jesus’ Miracles The term “religion” is traced to the Latin religare‚ which means‚ “being bound.” This idea may reflect a concept prominent in biblical literature. Because it crosses so many different boundaries in human experiences‚ it causes a great deal of controversy. The central views of defining what religion is suffer two conflicting sides. On one opposing view of religion is more of narrower aspects‚ where they tend exclude many belief systems. An example of a narrow definition
