Alka Seltzer Expirement Research The Expirement that the chemist will be conducting includes the following materials: hot water‚ room tepmerature water‚ cold water‚ and regular Alka Seltzer tablets. Research on Alka Seltzer in previous expirements shows that it dissolves faster in hotter temperatures of water. It also shows in previous expirements that Alka Seltzer dissolves slower in colder temperatures of water rather than hotter temoeratures. Alka Seltzer is an antacid that contains aspirin

When researching similar projects the scientists found a project where they tested the effect of three different temperatures of water on Alka-Seltzer tablets. In the experiment they first tested how long an Alka-Seltzer tablet would dissolve in cold water ( 9 degrees) then repeated it two more times in order to calculate a mean. Then using a hot plate to heat the water‚ they tested another tablet in the hot water (51 degrees) to see how long it would take to dissolve and again did it two more times

by mass of NaCO3 in Alka-Seltzer Tablets Alka-Seltzer is an effervescent antacid typically used for pain relief and neutralizing stomach acid to alleviate indigestion. Alka-Seltzer tablets contain Aspirin‚ Citric Acid (CH3COOH)‚ and Sodium Bicarbonate (NaCO3). When the tablet is placed in water it undergoes an acid-base reaction and Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is a byproduct that causes the notorious “Fizz”. The objective of the lab was to measure the % of NaCO3 in an Alka-Seltzer tablet in different

What factors will make an Alka-Seltzer tablet dissolve faster? My theory is that the Alka-Seltzer will dissolve faster in the warm water and slower in the cold water because the more heat something has the more energy the atoms or molecules in the object get. So in hot water the molecules inside are moving around really fast and have tons of energy to dissolve the tablet while in cold water the molecules are still moving around but at a slower pace therefore taking longer to dissolve the tablet.

effect of temperature on the rate of a chemical reaction by using Alka-Seltzer tablets and different temperatures of water. It is hypothesized that the Alka-Seltzer tablet will dissolve the fastest in the Hot Tap Water because of the higher temperature. The Effect of Temperature on a Chemical Reaction? The purpose of this experiment is to determine if the scientist can conclude in which temperature of water an Alka-Seltzer tablet has the fastest reaction time. The scientist will measure the
