Philip Zimbardo’s “Broken Windows Theory”. In this theory‚ Zimbardo conducted an experiment on human nature. I liked the piece “No Sacred Space” by Jared Aragon. I thought it was very creative. It started out as just the organ playing then the alto flute joined in. After that the viola joined in. I thought this was done smoothly. They blended in perfectly with each other. The music sounded really peaceful because of this blend. The alto flute solo was a nice addition. It allowed for the flute to stand out amongst the other instruments. It didn’t sound like it was done abruptly for no reason but for a purpose

The trumpets were also very well heard. Both the trumpets and trombones just flowed very at full volume together. There were three solos. First one from the alto sax‚ next I believe John Proctor played an amazing piece with his trumpet‚ hitting all the right notes with a sense of ease and placement. After that there was another beautiful alto sax solo. I really enjoyed these two solos. They both provide nice contrasts with warm and resonant tones. The third song was called " I’ve Got My Love to Keep

The classical style was dominated by homophony ‚ which consisted of a single melodic line and an accompaniment. New forms of composition were developed to adapt to this

Dvora. This song started out at a very fast pace and it started up in a louder tone then the other songs in the concert. It really got my attention. The fifth song was called “Song Number Two”‚ written by Arturo Marquez. It started out with the clarinets and flutes playing softly. The trombones joined in a few seconds after followed by the saxophones and trumpets. Just when I thought this song was ending‚ it started up with a melody that sounded like it could be the opening song for a spy movie.

is a supreme love for Coltrane’s biggest influence: his creator. Born and raised in the Southeast during the height of the segregation era‚ Coltrane sought comfort and unity in his local church. He expressed his love for the church by taking up clarinet for the community band. Coltrane shifted his interests towards jazz in high school thanks to the musicality of Lester Young and Johnny Hodges. It wasn’t until he heard
