“Emigrants Crossing the Plains” is a 60" x 96" oil painting that was created in 1867 by Albert Bierstadt. During Bierstadt’s first trip on the Oregon trail in 1859 he was inspired to capture the landscape and of the things he saw. From this inspiration he would go on to create many paintings of the West.
