When asked to choose a film based on its great editing techniques‚ I had to choose academy award winning‚ The Departed (Scorsese‚ 2006). This film starring Hollywood power houses‚ Matt Damon‚ Leonardo DiCaprio‚ Mark Wahlberg‚ and Jack Nicholson‚ won the 2006 academy for best editing and I believe that it was deservingly so. The editing in this film is very interesting in a sense that it is pretty different from the editing of most films that I have viewed. The editing is done by Thelma Schoonmaker
