The revolt is based on a struggle for religious freedom and independence. He founded Confradia de San Jose (Confraternity of Saint Joseph) in 1832‚ which composed of Indios. The Confradia prohibited the Spaniards and mestizos from joining without Pule’s permission. The great hero died on November 4‚ 1841 at Barrio Gibanga.
