The story "The Necklace" has more situational irony in my opinion then the story "Lamb to the Slaughter" which has less situational irony. Both of the stories have situational irony‚ but "The Necklace" tells more of a good story then "Lamb to the Slaughter." They all both good stories. The stories "Lamb to the Slaughter" and "The Necklace" both had good meanings. "The Necklace" tells a better story because the story explained how the main character which was Mathilde and she was very spoiled

Love In J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows‚ Harry‚ one of the main characters‚ was able to notice through multiple events that love is an aspect that is needed in every human being. The book shows that love is when someone cares deeply for someone else‚ and he or she puts that person’s well being before his or her own. As Hermoine‚ another main character‚ and Harry‚ looked on Kendra and Ariana Dumbledore’s grave in Godric’s Hollow‚ there was a quote signifying that wherever your

“What is a crucible?” Why does the author choose to name this play The Crucible? However‚ two definitions of the word can apply to the play The Crucible‚ which could mean “a severe test” or could also mean a piece of laboratory equipment used to heat chemical compounds to very high temperatures or to melt metal. The symbolism is very clear here because the village of Salem was actually a very strict community‚ which kind of ties in with a crucible because the people were accused of witchcraft in

Crazy Housewifes vs. Selfish Husbands The two short stories; Lamb to the Slaughter by Roald Dahl‚ and Jury of her Peers by Susan Glaspell have many similarities‚ and many differences in things like charters‚and murder. In Dahl’s short story a very chipper‚ pregnant housewife‚ Mary Maloney waits for her not so knowingly selfish husband to arrive home after a long day at work. On arrival Patrick Maloney is found weirdly silent. Mary then was thrown off balanced when her husband and father of her

In comparison I would say the necklace is better then Lamb to the Slaughter. I say this because Lamb of the Slaughter wasn’t that more of irony‚ but more of what was expected to happen. Like in the story Lamb of the Slaughter when she gets sad and mad‚ I kinda knew that she would do something about it. I also knew when she walked behind her husband she was going to hit him in the back of the head. Now in The Necklace in the beginning of the story‚ it had this girl named Mathidle Loisel‚ she is

Lamb to the Slaughter‚ written by Roald Dohl‚ is a short story about a couple that appears happy and is expecting their first child. This is quickly changed when the husband returns home from work one tonight to inform his wife that he is leaving her. This creates major changes in the characterization of the characters as what appears to be a loving‚ caring and attentive wife‚ turns to a vindictive murderer. A first impression‚ the couple is portrayed as a loving couple in which the pregnant wife
