    Persuasive Paper: Trapped Chilean Miners On Thursday‚ August 5‚ 2010‚ thirty-three Chilean mine workers became trapped 2300 feet underground after the San Jose mine entrance ramp in collapsed. With the escape shaft blocked off‚ there was not a way for them to evacuate safely‚ as well as no clear way for the 130 man rescue team to get inside to free the miners. Once communication had been set up between the miners and the rescue team‚ it was found that all of the miners were still alive.
