In this project Group 7 examined the seascape through formal elements in Claude-Oscar Monet’s Mouth of the Seine at Honfleur. It is oil on canvas seascape painting from 1865. The depiction of the light from the sky‚ in the form of the color blue‚ is the dominant formal element that catches our attention at first sight of this image. The intention is to also describe the white sailboat in the background with the seagulls flying around it because it catches the eye second. The painter‚ Monet‚ uses

MY commentary In my static image I chose to use the colours red‚ blue‚ white‚ purple‚ red and black because they all play an important part in the image. As some examples the parts in my image that are coloured in blue represent confidence‚ grey/black represents power‚ red represents determination and strength‚ purple represents ambition I also used white because it represents goodness and a successful beginning. All of these colours link to the main idea “overcoming challenges in life can be difficult”

“The Weary Blues“‚ he puts forth images of African-Americans‚ jazz music‚ and many more topics that have been a part of his life. These elements are what influenced him‚ and shows it in the works that he has written. He uses jazz and blues styles for subjects and for structure in this piece of literature. In Hughes’ poetry‚ he would try to bring out the sound‚ cadence‚ and rhythms from blues and jazz music. He would also use humor‚ loneliness‚ and despair‚ to imitate the sound of blues and jazz music

no words to say. Although there are lots of different types of my music my favorite is Rhythm and Blues. Rhythm and Blues (also known as R&B) made a splash on the scene and change the world as we know it. Let’s take a blast from the past by introducing one of the most popular genres of music around‚ telling the meaning behind R&B‚ and giving facts about why it’s just that good. II. Rhythm and Blues originated in the late 1940s and early 1950s. R&B got its name from record companies when it initially

dream inspires hope‚ yet is unattainable. Fitzgerald uses the color blue to illustrate the dreams of an unachievable side of reality. Gatsby‚ an East Egg entrepreneur‚ makes a fortune for the purpose of attaining the love of Daisy‚ a West Egg girl born into wealth and status. The blue lawn represents the separation of Gatsby and Daisy: “He had come a long way to this blue lawn‚ and his dream must have seemed so close that he could hardly fail to grasp it” (Fitzgerald

Blues‚ work songs‚ ragtime‚ spirituals‚ and minstrel songs were‚ in their own ways‚ all part of the great "Africanization of American music" that was originated by enslaved Africans in the southern United States. But the greatest of the musical forms developed in this process was jazz--one of the major American contributions to world culture. Each of these forms of music made essential contributions to the development of jazz itself but each‚ more or less‚ retained its own integrity and none could
