The film and the play were both very good but the film helps me understand the play better. Some of the differences between the play and film are the acting in this movie made the play not very interesting and at times the film was comical when the play was serious. The direction of the film did not deviate far from the original text. The characterization seems to be different from play to film with certain characters

and the interactions between humans who strive for power. Macbeth is a movie filled with gore and important morals to be taught. Similar to Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo and Juliet‚ Michael Bogdanov’s Macbeth is a modern adaptation to appeal to younger audiences. Inspiration for Bogdanov is clearly present in Madmax as well‚ as the concept of a dystopian future seems to be directly stripped from the film. The overall movie is a good adaptation of Macbeth‚ focusing on the action and visual aesthetic

play‚ Hamlet‚ Prince of Denmark‚ is said to be one of the most important bodies of work in the modern world. Hamlet is a riveting play that kept my intrigue with every turn. One specific piece of the play spoke volumes to me and has remained relevant in my mind to this day. It is the soliloquy spoken by Hamlet in Act 3‚ scene i lines 57-90. In this part of the play Hamlet is contemplating suicide. “To be‚ or not to be” is the question he asked himself. After all that has gone on between Hamlet and

had to end up dying in the end as well. During his struggles‚ he managed to become a powerful figure of his time‚ leaving behind a legacy that would continue to inspire people. I really enjoyed the visuals in this especially the beginning of the movie with the war scene. The fighting was very fast-paced and the environment was ever-changing with different characters displaying different talents. Commodus was a character I really liked as I felt he was really good with playing a villainous character

make some mistakes. I’m not alone in thinking this. William Gibson and Austin Pendleton‚ among others‚ have pointed out some of the Bard’s--what shall we call them?--technical infelicities. Here are a couple that bug me: I think there is a misplaced speech in Hamlet which has resulted in much unnecessary confusion. You’ll remember that in Act I Hamlet meets his father’s ghost‚ who tells his son that he was murdered by Claudius. Hamlet is full of resolve to do the right thing‚ but he makes no attempt

Hamlet is without any reservations‚ one of Shakespeare’s most mystifying plays. Although the play has a concise story‚ it is filled with many uncertainties relating to different issues behind the plot. The reader is left with many uncertainties about the true feelings of prince Hamlet. One question in particular is‚ did Hamlet really love Ophelia? This dispute can be reinforced either way‚ however I believe Hamlet was truly in love with Ophelia. Support for my decision comes from Hamlet’s treatment

Along with Hamlet‚ King Lear and Macbeth‚ Othello is one of the four greatest tragedies written during Shakespeare’s tragic period. But Othello is unique among the others. Unlike Hamlet‚ King Lear and Macbeth‚ which are set against a backdrop of affairs of the nation‚ Othello focuses on human nature. Love‚ jealousy‚ racism and deceit are universal themes not only evident in Shakespeare’s time‚ but also in our time and in the future. They are patterns of human nature which are continuous in the history

The movie I selected for my movie review is 300 by Zach Snyder which represents the story of the brave 300 Spartans who fought bravely to their death‚ know that would be the end result. The movie stars Gerard Butler as king Leonidas and his wife Queen Gorgo as Lena Headey. Also another important actor is Dominic West who plays Theron a traitor of Sparta who is trying to delay the Queen or override her attentions of convincing the council to assembly an army against the Persians.
