The museum I chose to visit for my project was the Holocaust museum. My visit there was so far peaceful and reflective. The museum serves to not only remind the visitors about the victims of Holocaust but to also teach and explain to them what went on during that event. My experience turned out to be memorable but I wasn’t pulled in as I thought I it would be. The structure of the holocaust museum disappointed me. It was very small and looked lonely compared to the other vibrant museums. I wasn’t

These Jews were part of the German community. More importantly‚ they were humans who deserved consideration. Ironically‚ the United States fought against the German Nazis to end the Holocaust; Now‚ the same United States that believes in “liberty for all” has enforced something just as gruesome. The modern way to have lack of heart is displayed in the form of deportation. Deportation not only separates families but also takes people to

How could ‘ordinary men’ become genocidal killers in the Holocaust? Memories of the Holocaust are littered with acts of such inhumane cruelty and barbarity that they are almost unbelievable‚ Hermann Patschmann’s memories are no different. “One time the German authorities were short of SS matrons‚ so they recruited them by force from the factories without even giving them enough time to inform their families. They were taken to the camp where they were divided into groups of 50. One day they were

The Jews thought we had been defeated by the Russians and they would be safe. That was amusing to us considering the fact that right afterward we put them through hell itself. We made them suffer‚ put many of them to death‚ and felt no mercy. I hated those Jews. They discarded our win and caused us to lose in World War I. They stabbed our backs‚ now it’s time we stab theirs. Only seems fair‚ right? They had doubted us that we would come. It was denial. They knew we were coming. We don’t get defeated

The Holocaust‚ one of the biggest events to happen in history‚ is being debated whether to teach it in school or not. The Holocaust was a big event in history that every child has to learn about at some point. That point should be in 8th grade. That is when the kids start to be more mature and can handle the horribly detailed events of the Holocaust. The Holocaust should be taught in the 8th grade because it is a very important part of history and 8th graders are more mature at that age. The

Teaching the Holocaust to 8th. Graders Teaching the Holocaust and World War II and Hitler’s rise to power is an extremely debatable topic for schools because of how violent and gruesome it truly was. A prime example is the gas chambers in which millions of Jews were murdered‚ which prompts some schools to drop related lessons in fear that the topic will offend students of Jewish descent. The problem is that the Holocaust needs to be taught or history may be doomed to repeat itself. The difficulty

brief but devastating Holocaust‚ to modern terrorist attacks‚ history books tell of atrocity after atrocity. If one were to ask a random person on the street‚ he or she could probably provide a decent explanation of any of these events. After all‚ humanity has a fascination with violent and horrific acts‚ so if people remember anything from high school history class‚ it is likely a tragedy. However‚ there is one historic massacre that is seldom discussed: the African holocaust. The enslavement and

Female accomplices of the Holocaust were put in a peculiar environment. These accomplices embodied the symbol of the female but were voluntarily at sites of extreme violence. This proved to be troublesome for SS officers because they were under the assumption that they needed to protect these women. Instead‚ these women embraced the violence. One example of this environment was when Vera Wohlauf‚ a wife of an SS officer‚ was present at the liquidation of the Miedzyrzec-Podlaski ghetto. Wohlauf enjoyed

The Holocaust Vs. The Buggers “As freedom-loving people across the globe hope for an end to tyranny‚ we will never forget the enormous suffering of the Holocaust” – Bob Beauprez. In 1939 a mass murder of people occurred called the Holocaust (Collier 197). Another xenocide similar to the Holocaust‚ the Buggers‚ which transpired in a book called Enders Game by Orson Scott Card. While the differences between the Holocaust and the bugger’s xenocide are noticeable the similarities are striking. The
